Everybody has had a vision, a full blown description of what they think love is.
The truth of the matter is true love is simple yet flattering and there is no pure definition
However there are things not to be left to prediction
Pay attention to the reasons they dress up,
Is it for you or is it because they're going out.
Do they come to you when they need insight,
Or do they post it instead to see how many likes.
Pay attention to how they show you their love,
Sure it's nice to hear but never let the word be enough.
Pay attention to their respect for your morals
If they can't respect that then how can you expect to set goals
Pay attention to the reason they smile
And whether their smile can really make it all worthwhile
Pay attention to how they carry their trust
Because without that then it can all spontaneously combust
Pay attention to the level of respect
A simple misstep can make you realize all that you might regret.
Pay attention to what they pay attention to this piece is essential.
Glory times will arise if their focus is in you.
Attention is mental, what good could it do if their span dismissed you?
But then there's a much bigger question than that,
Where does the love stand and Where does the respect end?
Can the one that claims your love even be considered a friend?
Can you trust them with your will and not be forced to bend?
Can you honestly make a gift out of their presence?
Do you feel like you can fly without breaking consensus?
Can you hold them in your arms and consider them precious?
Can you feel warmth in your soul just with them in your vision?
Can you see them eye to eye no matter the difference?
Can you feel them in your heart no matter the distance?
That to me right there is my definition.
True love is a bond consisting of essence.
