Anti POV
I did as PewDIE requested, and brought (Y/n) along for my interrogation of the old woman. Darkiplier, of course, would not allow her to get out of his sight either, so he tagged along and cancelled all meetings for the day.
We explained all we knew to (Y/n) and of course she had a few questions, but eventually we got to the small cottage the woman lived in, getting out and raising a brow at the many flowers growing in her garden. The unnatural brightness of the petals clashing with the grey tone of the rest of the world.
Dark helped (Y/n) out the carriage, yet she stumbled forward, almost falling headfirst into the ground. Dark caught her before that could happen, "Kitten? What's wrong?" She was too entranced by the sight of the building, her mouth hanging open, that it looked as though she didn't even hear Darkiplier's words.
The door to the small home opened, and an old woman, about half my height, with silver and white hair, wrinkled complexion and squinting... familiar eyes. A smile broke onto the woman's face, propping up all the excess skin on her cheeks. I burst into manic laughter at the sight of this. I don't care about being polite, she looked fucking ridiculous!
"Good to see you too Sir Antisepticeye," That managed to shut me up, how the fuck does she know who I am? Her voice was gravely and worn, yet welcoming: that could also be said about her aura.
"How do you-"
"What are you doing in my house?" (Y/n) demanded, taking everyone, except the old woman, by surprise, "My family lived here, who said you could move in?"
The woman nodded and opened the door wider, making way for us to come in. Once we did, she offered us each a chair to sit on, around a small table in the center of some kind of a kitchen.
"Now, let's get down to business, I'll tell you what you came here to know if you let me live here,"
Dark and I both stared at one another as though both saying, 'how does she know we need something?'
(Y/n) contemplated this, then argued "...No, this place holds too much of a place in my heart,"
"What heart?" the woman interjected, pointing at Dark and saying, "That man over there has your soul and that's what powers your heart,"
We all gawk at her, dumbfounded by how she could possess such knowledge. We all said, in unison, "How did you know?"
"I can smell it... so you all came here to learn about Chancellor Frederick, I assume,"
"Yes, would you mind explaining it,"
"I suppose it doesn't matter whether or not I'm allowed to live here, I'm going to die soon anyway," she began laughing and I couldn't help but do the same at her mention of death. (Y/n) and Dark just stared blankly at us, "Anyhoo, as you can guess, most of the story was fake, but I had to take some creative liberties to hide the truth. I was a maid, but not the demon's. And the demon was not a Chancellor. But-"
"Wait, you were the maid?" I intergected,
"Yes, keep up. Well continuing, I sort of killed him, in a way? Well, you get what I mean... actually, you probably don't, but he-"
"Sorry," Dark cut her off, "Can you tell the real story from the beginning, please?"
"Of course your highness. Well, let's call the man Amato. He took my soul and I started to become more and more like him-"
"You turned into a demon?" I inquire,
"Ah, not only that. I began taking on his characteristics,"
This time, Dark spoke, "Did Amato begin to take on yours as well?"
"Yes, it made work very hard for him. Though he'd never admit it to anyone, not even me,"
I noticed Dark steal a glance from (Y/n) and linger there with his jaw hung open, prepared to say something. However, he closed it and redirected his attention to the old woman. "Anyway, when I was far away from Amato, I became incredibly ill, almost dying even. But he found me and I was healed. I'm afraid I can't say more, as I've already said too much,"
"Too much? This is the vaguest story in the world," (Y/n) snapped, standing and slamming her fists against the table, something Dark would usually do. The woman was right, (Y/n) was turning into Dark.
"I want to say more, but I'm almost certain what I have to say will anger the King," she turned her gaze to Dark.
Dark looked from (Y/n) the the old woman, unsure if he was prepared to make this sacrifice... "If I promise to not overreact, will you tell us?"
"Yes..." the old woman nodded,
"Then I promise," (Y/n) took a seat at his words, but didn't bother to thank him or give any kind of reaction to his sacrifice. They really were trading personalities.
The old woman hesitated, sighing and losing her joking aura. "He gave me my soul back,"
At this, Dark jumped to his feet, almost knocking the table over. His chest rose and deflated rapidly and he tried to control his anger. "Then you took the opportunity and ran away from him,"
The lady didn't even jump at his outburst, instead drinking from her glass, calmly and placing it back down, not even bothering to look at the livid King before her. That, in itself, felt far more threatening than any spell Dark could throw. "You mistake me, he forced me away after seeing how wrong he was,"
"But you're glad, if he let you go, you would have left without a second thought,"
"Do you know what Amato means?" she inquired, seeming to change the subject completely, "It means, beloved. I loved him and would have stuck by his side forever, but he had no trust in me,"
Instantly, without any warning, Dark grabbed (Y/n) wrist, with blazing red eyes, and stormed out, pulling her with him. He chucked her into the carriage and told the driver to return to their INN we were staying at. I sat there in the kitchen of the old lady, watching as the black smoke Dark let out in the house slowly seeped out the windows and open front door. The woman sipped more of her tea.
"I should go," I quickly add, "Sorry Miss.... you're name," taking a stand, I began preparing my energy to fly away after Dark and (Y/n).
"My name is Sanura,"
Looking back and, nodding curtly in response, I flew away.
