Quinns POV
Taylor and I happily walked to Luigis arm in arm. I was positive that I had been wrong about Taylor. He just seemed arrogant and full of himself. He was actually a decent guy. He never talked to me about Magcon, he was really funny, and super hot. I didn't actually have a valid reason to hate him after the half an hour we've spent together so far.
When we entered Luigis, Taylor walked away from me to talk to the hostess. I followed him.
She was wearing a black dress shirt and tie with black slacks and sneakers. She also had her dark hair in a bun and too-dark red lipstick on. That was the only make up she was wearing. It made her lips pop out like a frog. She had a low voice, "How many?"
Taylors cheery voice piped up, "2, please."
"Follow me. Booth?"
We answered in union, "Yes, please." Then Taylor winked at me. He mouthed, great minds think alike.
We got seated and the hostess parted with, "Your server will be Cath. Enjoy."
Cath, a short red head with the same clothes on as the hostess, had come and taken the drink order.
"This place is nice," Taylor observed. The dark color mixed with green St. Pattys Day decorations did look good. Luigis has always been in for that holiday.
I laughed, "So you've actually never been here? I love this place.
Taylors POV
I noted her thoughtful stare and questioned, "You have good childhood memories here, don't you?"
Quinn looked genuinely surprised, "Observant, aren't you? If you must know," she winked, "back when my mother still made us do family time, we would come here every Friday."
I smiled, "Thats sweet. How long ago was it since you all came here?"
Quinns smile wavered, "7th grade... my mom is hardly home enough to do family nights." She sighed, "My parents are lawyers. My dad is home more than my mom. She works a lot. Sometimes- most of the time, I go to sleep before she even gets home."
I felt my face soften, "I'm sorry, I can't imagine how that feels..." I thought I saw a tear, but she turned her head away. She was a strong girl.
Quinn recomposed herself, "Its fine, I'm used to it by now. I don't want to ruin our night with my sappy stories. Tell me something interesting about you." She smiled, but it didn't reach her eyes.
I went along with it and smiled back. She obviously did not want to continue this talk, and I would respect her wishes. I said, "Well, I like to play baseball."
Quinns eyes finally lit up, and I let out a tiny sigh of relief that she was back to normal. She fiddled her hair, "I love baseball. Watching, not playing. I prefer to play softball. Ugh, Im blabbing. Sorry. Nervous habit." then she bit her lip.
I got a mischievous gleam in my eyes, "Oh, nervous, are you? Why would that be?"
Quinns POV
Thankfully, Cath came back with drinks, "Two Dr. Peppers. Are you ready to order?"
Taylor looked at me, and I nodded. His wonderful hazel eyes grazed the menu, "Can I please get... a cheeseburger. Picky eater." He laughed at himself.
Cath turned to me, "The same as him, please."
Cath smiled sweetly at us, "You two kids are cute. Nothing more romantic than the same eating habits." With that, she walked toward the kitchen before we could correct her.
Taylor and I looked at each other, but quickly looked away. We could both feel the heat crawling up to our faces.
I was the first to break the silence. Taylor looked grateful. I said, "Not into italian food?"
Taylor gave me a slight chuckle, "Nope. Guess you aren't either."
A shy smile played at my lips, taunting Taylor, "I like it just fine, I was too busy thinking about your question to care what I got."
Now I was leaned forward, elbows on the table. My head was cocked to the side.
Taylors POV
My palms were sweating. She looked so.. sexy. It was breathtaking. I asked, " The one where I asked you why you were nervous, but you were saved by the bell? I guess saved by the Cath. Same difference."
She leaned back a little. It was then when I realized how tense she was. She said, "Taylor, I was-I am nervous. I never thought I would possibly feel this way," I was on the edge of my seat, staring into the pools of blue that were her eyes, "but I do," she shifted her eyes down toward the table, "You make me feel better. I was going to ask if I could go to one of your baseball games, thats what people that like people do. They go to their baseball games. I want to go to your baseball games. Because I like you." She sounded like she was trying to convince herself.
Quinns POV
I wasn't, I already knew I liked him. I just wasn't used to expressing my feelings. The boy normally did the talking. With Taylor, I felt like it was her job.
Taylors POV
There were tears stinging at the back of my eyes. I was not going to cry. I was just so happy. This was very unexpected. I blinked back the tears. Then, I reached over the table and lifted her chin up so she was looking at me, "I have liked you since I met you. You can come to a game. Hell, I'll drive you to a game."
Quinn grabbed hold of the hand under her chin. She kissed my hand and spoke with her words muffled because she didn't pull back. "Thank you," she said simply.
"Two cheesebugers for the lovebirds." We jumped apart and started laughing.
We quickly ate our food. Quinn stood and stretched out her legs, and I followed suit. She grabbed my hand, thanked me, and kissed my cheek. I smiled that lopsided grin at her as I flipped a 20 onto the table.
Quinn giggled, "Thats my favorite smile of yours."
To that, I just laughed, "You have favorites?"
She lightly punched my arm, "I have a favorite. Get outta your head, Caniff."
We happily walked together to the parking lot. When we got to my black, range rover, sports car. I grunted.
Quinns POV
I thought something was wrong, so I released his hand. "What?" I asked.
One corner of his lips turned up, "Nothing." He leaned against his car door and wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me close. "Nothing is wrong except that we have to part ways."
I touched my nose to his and murmured, "You and I. We will never part ways."
Then, Taylor said something that I would never forget, "Till death do us part."
I liked the sound of that. I repeated, "Till death do us part."
The next thing we knew, our lips met. It was not like any other kiss. The whole world around us seemed to stop and it was just the two of us. Our lips fit like puzzle pieces, in synch with the sound of our own symphony.
We stopped to breath, but didn't pull away. We just stood there for a while. Foreheads touching, breathing heavily, hands tangled in each others hair. Eventually, I had to leave. I detangled myself, and our lips met again for a brief period of time.
I managed to find my voice and whisper, "Goodnight. I'll see you tomorrow. This was a night to remember."
Taylors POV
I watched her walk to her car. This was an accomplishing night, so I decided to post a tweet:
Till death do us part. I have never loved that phrase as much as tonight.
