Quinns POV
The world was fuzzy. Last night came crashing back like a wave of terror. It was a tsunami.
Last nights events explained why my face was tearstained, and my hair was sticking to it. I sat up and rubbed my eyes, then removed the hair from my face. I was uncertain about various things right now, but I was certain that i was not going to school for the rest of the week. I had my selfish grieving time last night, and would most likely continue to cry myself to sleep. I had to take care of my dad right now.
I got up and walked into the bathroom. That's as the good thing about having a fancy house. I got a bathroom in my room. I washed my face, brushed my hair and teeth, and used the bathroom. I put my long hair up into a messy bun.
When I went back into my room, I put on a bra and black sweatpants. I chose a T-shirt that was maroon and said Fear the Spear on it.
I made my way down to the kitchen, but I checked on my dad first. He was laying sideways on his black sheets. He didn't even change last night. I shook my head, but closed the door and headed back to the kitchen.
I decided to make eggs and bacon. I went to the steel refrigerator and removed 3 eggs. 2 for her dad, 1 for me. I also grabbed the bacon package from the top drawer.
After i had the food all cooked and on plates, i poured orange juice into 2 glass cups. I left the plates on the marble counter and made my way to my dads room.
He was leaning up against the headboard. I went to him. My face softened as i spoke, "Its okay, Daddy. It hurts me, too. Please try and get better."
He looked at me doubtfully, but still shook his head.
I offered a weak smile. "Come eat, please. Then your showering, you smell like alcohol."
He sighed and got up. We went to the kitchen and ate together.
When my dad finally showered and got dressed, he went back to sleep. So did i.
The next 3 days went by the same way. On friday, there was a schedule change.
After i finished making my dad eat and shower, i lay in bed, thinking about how terrible things have gone. I really missed Taylor, for starters. We couldn't even text, because i had forgotten to give him my number. On top of that, my mom was gone. Really gone. I have grown used to it, just kept bottling everything up for my dads sake. He was almost okay now.
My thoughts were interrupted by the doorbell.
I ran to her dads room, luckily he hadn't woken. Then i answered the door. I smiled for the first time since monday. My face lit up.
Taylor looked happy to see me, but concerned. I motioned him inside.
"My dad is sleeping."
"Okay. Where have you been? Are we okay? Did you stop coming to school because of me? Quinn, I need to-"
I pushed a finger to his lips. I whispered, "Lets meet later, okay? I can't talk. My dad is sleeping. Here is a summary: When I got home on monday, my life flipped upside down. I don't know what to do, Taylor. I will elaborate later." My eyes were sad and puffy.
Taylors face was etched with worry. He spoke quietly, "I will come back at 7 to pick you up. Im worried about you. My parents are out of town, so I have the place to myself. We can talk privately."
I nodded and started walking to the door, opening it for him. He stopped and turned to face me. He pulled me close to him. My head was laying on his chest, so I could hear his heartbeat. It was soothing. Taylor kissed me on the top of the head and told me, "Everything will be okay, baby. Stay strong. Its going to be alright. I will always be here for you."
After he left, i leaned against the door. I let a single tear run down my cheek. Why did everything have to be so difficult? Nobody ever deserves this, no matter what.
