People always want you to be well, they require you to be happy all the time, but seem to forget that feeling sad and not suppressing this feeling can help you move on through hard times of your life. People don't seem to be able to see you down without saying something like "get over it", wanting to rush you to get well and usually hinder a recovery process. And it was for this, and for some other reasons, that (Y/N) had a place where she went when she wasn't feeling fine and didn't want to be judged by the other people of Arkadia.
The girl was going through some bad stuff in recent times, and, although she tried, sometimes she couldn't help but start crying about those things. Those were the moments she went to her special place. She was in one of those moments, sitting up, trying to keep quiet as tears streamed down her face, but eventually the girl let a sob escape her trembling lips.
"So you're the one using this place, too." the (Y/L/N) girl heard a male voice speaking from somewhere behind her, which made her jump slightly.
(Y/N) turned her head quickly, seeing Jasper Jordan walking toward her. They knew each other, not very well, but they did. Both were part of the 100 and had each other's backs during some fights, which led them to kind of taking a liking to each other. She wiped the tears from her eyes, starting to stand up, but stopped when the boy sat next to her.
Jasper had shaved his hair and let his mustache and beard grow a little. He no longer looked like a boy, as he had been before, but he looked like a man. He was different from the times they had to be in each other's presence. She barely saw him after they came back from The Mountain, and when she did, he was usually drunk - and she was surprised not to see him like that at the moment -. She knew what had left him like this. Mount Weather.
"Long time no see, Jasper." she said, cursing herself for her voice sounding tearful.
"What happened?" he studied her for a few seconds before speaking.
(Y/N) looked at him for a while before she felt her eyes go wet again, letting her tears streamed down her face, not caring that the boy was watching her become a mess. But he didn't stop her, he didn't ask her to stop crying; instead, he wrapped one of his arms around the girl's shoulders, pulling her closer to him and letting her cry on his shoulder.
"They are gone." she managed to say through her sobs. "They're all gone."
"Who?" Jasper stroked her arm, trying to bring some comfort to her.
"My family. My friends." the tears came down non-stop and she didn't care if she was wetting the boy's shirt. "My station didn't make it to the ground."
"That sucks." he murmured, making (Y/N) nod at him, the sobs coming out of her mouth growing louder, even as she tried to calm down. "I know it hurts, and it will never stop hurting."she pressed herself a little closer to him, managing to calm herself a little, less tears coming from her eyes. "We'll miss them forever, but no one seems to understand, right?"
"How do people expect me to just get over it?" she felt a rage, which until that moment she had not felt, forming inside her. "It's not like they're something I can just erase from my memory."
"They don't know what it's like to lose someone they love."
"No, they don't." she shook her head, closing her eyes. "They don't know what it is like to not be able to see them, or hear them talk, or laugh, or even yell at you. They don't know what it is like not to know if they felt pain when they..." Jasper pulled her even closer to him. The girl lifted her face from his shoulder, opening her eyes and looking at him. "What about you?"
"What about me?" he looked at her, still not letting (Y/N) out of his arms.
"What happened to you?"
"You know what happened."
"Yes, but do you want to talk about it?"
He remained silent for a few seconds, which made the girl think he didn't want to touch the subject, which she totally understood. But after a few moments he sighed, letting his head drop a little.
"I hadn't known her for a long time, but every moment I had with her was so special." (Y/N) put her head back on his shoulder, wrapping her arms around his waist in a hug, which made him squeeze her against him. "And I think it would be more bearable if I had someone I knew would be here for me, but I just feel so... Ignored by everyone. Like I'm a burden to them all." the (Y/L/N) girl began stroking his waist, in an act of comfort as he had done with her minutes before. "It's like everyone has turned their backs on me, even those I never thought would do that." she could feel tears falling on her head as the boy leaned his on hers. "I feel so lonely, and, because of it, I can think about Maya even more and about how this pain feels like it will never end." (Y/N) hugged the boy tightly and Jasper felt relieved to finally talk to someone about it. "And sometimes I have these thoughts-"
Those dark thoughts, (Y/N) knew exactly what he meant by that. She released herself from his embrace with effort, since Jasper was hugging her tightly back. He looked up at the girl, she was in front of him, staring at him. He was afraid he might have said something he shouldn't have told her, that maybe she didn't understand his pain just as he thought she understood. But a small smile appeared on her lips before they were pressed against the boy's forehead.
"We just need time." she stared at him for a moment before she sat down next to him again. "And until then I'll be with you, no matter how long it takes."
The girl turned her gaze to him when she realized he was looking at her, a faint smile on his lips. He leaned toward her, gently pressing his lips to hers for a few seconds in an innocent kiss.
"I'll be here for you, too." he said after pulling away from her, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her closer to him again as the girl wrapped her arms around his torso, laying her head on his shoulder again.
(Y/N) had stopped crying that time, but that didn't mean that her problems would go away just because now she had Jasper by her side, but in fact, having someone she could talked to was very helpful, especially when this someone understood her. Her family and friends weren't going to leave her memory, but she knew that with the Jordan boy being there for her, eventually things would be all right. For both of them.
