Falling in love with a friend is bad, but nothing is worse than falling in love with a friend who is out of your league. Jasper Jordan had this problem. There was this girl in his station, (Y/N), she had always caught his eye, but they weren't part of the same group of friends, so he had never felt comfortable to talk to her without having a reason. But one day their teacher had said that she needed help in chemistry, and Jasper obviously volunteered to help her, and after that, basically, they had become good friends. And then it was when Jasper began to feel something more for her, and he was managing to keep that to himself for a while, but the need to tell her began to grow. And then he saw a chance to do it in a special way. Christmas was coming soon and, with it, the Christmas party.

The Ark loved giving parties to teenagers, probably because they would be more concerned about celebrating than breaking laws. And Jasper had decided that that would be the best opportunity he could get to tell the girl his feelings, and that was exactly why Jasper was standing anxiously in a corner of the party with Monty and Shawn. Although his friends were talking, Jasper was paying attention to the girl who was dancing in the middle of the dance floor with her friends. (Y/N) was pretty, in clothes different from the ones Jasper was used to seeing her, but the smile that the girl had on her lips was what gave her a special glow.

Several reactions had passed in Jasper's mind since he had decided he would confess what he felt for her, his favorites were those in which that beautiful smile appeared on her lips, which soon connected with his. He was already thinking about having his first kiss for some time, and his favorite scenario was when it was with her. That would definitely be the perfect Christmas present.

"So, you like (Y/N) (Y/L/N), uh?" Shawn's voice woke Jasper out of his thoughts. "Are you two friends?" he asked, to which Jasper nodded excitedly. He still couldn't understand how they had become friends, but he was glad they had.

"Great friends." Monty muttered as he ate a cupcake.

"Great friends." Jasper agreed, a big smile on his face.

"There is no way to leave the friendzone after you entered it, Jasper." Shawn patted the boy's shoulder. "She probably just sees you as a goofy friend or something."

Jasper nodded slightly, feeling all the excitement he had so far coming out of him. Monty glared at Shawn, shaking his head and rolling his eyes, then changing the subject. They continued to talk, though the Jordan boy remained distracted. He was looking at a smiling (Y/N), a look of dismay on his face. Telling her didn't seem like a good idea anymore.

"Why don't you go there now?" Monty's voice that woke him from his thoughts this time. It was when he noticed that (Y/N) was going to sit with one of her friends in a place close to where he was. Jasper turned to Monty and Shawn to realize that Shawn was gone. When had he left?

"I don't think I should do this." Jasper replied, making Monty raise an eyebrow.

"You're not thinking of giving up, right?"

"C'mon Monty, look at her." Jasper looked at (Y/N) again, looking at the smile he liked so much, then sighing. "She wouldn't notice me like that."

"Nope. No." Monty stood in front of Jasper, holding his friend's shoulders with a determined look. "I've been watching you sighing for her for months. You can't give up now."

Jasper looked at Monty, turning his gaze to (Y/N) and then to Monty again, starting to murmur something about being rejected by her and how their friendship would never be the same.

"I'm not going to lie. Is there a chance that she is going to reject you? Yes." Jasper huffed, making Monty give a small smile before continuing. "But she's friends with the biggest nerds in our station, who knows if she likes one of them, right?" Monty squeezed the boy's shoulders before releasing them. "So you can either stay whining until the end of the night or you can go get the girl."

Jasper gave him a surprised look before he started to laugh."Where did that come from?"

"This brain keeps many secrets." he replied pointing at his head and then shrugging "Or maybe I read it somewhere, I'm not sure."

Jasper rolled his eyes with a smile on his face, feeling the energy coming back to him, making him jump in his place. He looked once more at (Y/N) before nodding and looking back at Monty.

"I'm going to get the girl."

And with that, the Jordan boy started to walk towards the girl, his heart beating faster and faster with each step he took closer to (Y/N). As he reached her side the sound of two people singing Jingle Bell Rock reached his ears. Great. That would be known as their song.

"(Y/N)." he called to her, feeling courage running through his body, though that feeling had faded when the girl turned to him.

"Hey Jasper." she smiled at him, making him smile back involuntarily. "I was about to go talk to you and Monty."

He chuckled, though he didn't know why he did it, and then his eyes stopped at the girl next to (Y/N) who was looking at him with a smirk on her face. "I need to talk to you." he said, making (Y/N)'s friend's smirk just widen before she said a quick "I get it." and leave the place.

(Y/N) had a confused expression, although a smile remained on her face. "Something happened?"

"No, I just... Okay, I, um..." Jasper swallowed, realizing he hadn't planned exactly what to say to her. He felt his face warm, feeling the girl's gaze on him.

"Spill it out, Jasp." she said, giving him an encouraging smile. How he loved that smile.

"There's something I wanted to tell you and I don't know how to say it exactly." the boy nodded, taking a deep breath and began to say everything that came into his mind. "I like you. I've liked you for a while, and I had to tell you this because... Well, because it seemed the right thing to do?" Jasper mentally cursed himself for looking so uncertain. "Every time I see you smiling, the only thing I can think of is that I want you to keep smiling and that I want to be the reason you smile. And I know we're just friends and that this could end our friendship, but I can't get you out of my head. Ask Monty, I talk about you, like, all the time. And I just wanted to know if there's any chance of this being mutual."

Jasper took another deep breath, this time to recover the air he lost while he was talking. (Y/N) was no longer smiling, her mouth was slightly open, and her expression showed that she was surprised by all that he said. He didn't know if the silence that followed the next few seconds was a good sign, none of the scenarios he had imagined had ended like that. And then (Y/N) giggled, which made Jasper confused. Was she laughing at him?

"This is." a wide smile appeared on her face while Jasper was assimilating the words she had said, his eyes widening in understanding as she closed her eyes, leaning toward him. That was the moment. And as the two other people continued singing Jingle Bell Rock, Jasper's and (Y/N)'s lips collided.

Jasper's heart seemed to be about to explode as he felt her soft lips move against his. The boy's trembling hands positioned themselves at her waist, pulling her gently closer to him as he felt her delicate hands wrapping around his neck. That feeling was great and Jasper only knew he wanted to continue feeling it for a long time.

The goggle boy finally got the girl.
