How could things go so wrong so quickly? That was the sentence that was now being repeated in (Y/N)'s mind. But in fact, things were already bad before that, they had only gotten worse. Things hadn't been right since they left Mount Weather. The problems seemed to have started there, at least for her, because after that nothing was the same as before. Nothing, not even the friendship that she thought would last forever between her and her best friends.

Monty and Jasper didn't talk to each other anymore, at least not in the way they did before, instead, every time the Jordan boy saw the other, he made sure to make a bitter remark about Monty helping to radiate The Mountain. So they seemed to prefer not to be close to each other, which meant that (Y/N) had to divide her time to be with each one of them. And that tired her, not being able to stay with them together, having to listen to them talking shit about each other and demanding that she also had to say something. Tiring. So, after a few months, she had begun to distance herself from them as well.

So yeah, the three inseparable friends hardly spoke to each other. (Y/N) kept smiling at Monty in the hallway when she saw him, but she always left before he could go talk to her. She didn't want to talk about Jasper, leave the poor boy alone.

The girl almost didn't see the Jordan boy down the hallways. She had heard he was usually passed out from drinking. But when she happened to find him passed out somewhere she was walking by, she couldn't help but go help him, taking him back to his room with someone's help. And when it happened to her to find him in the corridors still awake, she would talk to him a bit, doing everything to keep Jasper from talking about Monty. She also didn't want to talk about him, he did what he thought was right.

It was complicated, but she knew she couldn't leave things the way they were. But (Y/N) didn't have to worry about that much longer, a new problem had appeared and seemed to deserve her full attention. A.L.I.E..

The (Y/L/N) girl didn't understand a thing of what was happening, but she didn't have to, she only had to know that she couldn't take the chip. That was the only thing that mattered, and, fortunately, (Y/N) had been able to do that, unlike several Arkadia residents, including Jasper. But they had only discovered that a few moments ago when Monty had entered the room where (Y/N) and Raven were. He was bleeding, had been stabbed by Jasper.

They had locked the Jordan boy out of the room, and, since then, his voice could be heard, trying to persuade them to let him in. (Y/N)'s heart tightened to see him like that, to see how changed everyone was. The girl took those thoughts out of her head, trying to focus on what Raven was trying to do, though (Y/N) was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't even know what was happening at that moment.

"You're there, aren't you (Y/N)?" Jasper's voice sounded around the room, which made her head turn toward the door. She could feel Monty's gaze on her for a moment. "Don't worry, I won't mess you up."

"Don't mind anything he says, (Y/N)." Monty reminded the girl, who nodded.

"I think this is going to upset Monty more than you, to be honest." the Jordan boy's voice continued to ring around the room, attracting the attention of the Green boy, who also looked toward the door. "Don't you think there's no better time for us to put our cards on the table, Monty?"

(Y/N) frowned, turning her gaze at Monty, who widened his eyes slightly. "Oh, he won't-"

"How many nights have we spent awake thinking of you, oh dear sweet (Y/N)?" the girl turned her gaze to the door again, paying attention to Jasper's words. "How many times have we dreamed that you would realize how much we were in love with you and finally choose one of us?" it was (Y/N)'s turn to widen her eyes, now turning to look at the Green boy, who turned his gaze to the floor when his eyes met hers. "We fought a lot of times as we tried to find out who you liked the most. I always liked to think it was me, but Monty-"
