(Y/N) sighed as she looked at those formulas and how she should use them. Her head ached and she could barely see the letters and numbers written in that book. She grimaced, after all, what would she want or need to know Kp for in her life? Chemistry was so difficult and unnecessary, just existing to torment her in school.
Fortunately, the best chemistry student in her class, Jasper Jordan, was a close friend of hers and always offered to help her study, seeing her struggle, but she always declined. (Y/N) had better things to do than study. And that made her need to study hard for her final exam, and luckily Jasper agreed to help. He tried to explain things in an easier way, but she just couldn't understand.
The girl threw the book aside, lying down on her bed and closing her eyes. "Let's take a break, yeah?"
"But we're almost into organic chemistry" Jasper protested, but closed his book. "It's the best part!" she grunted, making the boy laugh. "Okay, I think we can take a break."
(Y/N) opened her eyes and turned to the side, seeing Jasper lying on the floor, already looking at her.
"Did you bring something?" she asked, causing him to sit down again.
"You know I do." a smirk appeared on the Jordan boy's lips, making her shake her head as she started to smirk herself.
And that took them to that moment: the two of them sitting on the floor, leaning against her bed, stoned. (Y/N) needed that, needed to relax, those last few weeks hadn't been the best ones for her, and the nervousness over the exams didn't help.
"And it's so unfair that our books barely talk about them." Jasper kept complaining to a (Y/N) who just nodded, though she wasn't paying attention to what he was saying. But she had two good reasons for this: first, her thoughts didn't let her focus on anything; and second, Jasper had come up with an obsession over meerkats since Monty had said something about them and (Y/N) had had to put up with the Jordan boy complaining for a week that no one appreciates the meerkats as they should. "First they die and now they don't get the recognition they deserve! Life has been so unfair to the little ones. "
(Y/N) nodded again, feeling sorry for the animals for a moment. "Do you know what's worse than not being appreciated?" she asked, feeling Jasper turn to her. He always seemed to pay so much attention to her, no matter how stoned he was. "Being left. Like, the meerkats were left to die on Earth. "Jasper nodded, fully agreeing with her. "Or being left by someone you liked." Jasper continued to nod, then stopped, frowning at her.
"Are we still talking about meerkats?" he asked confused.
"No, Jasper, we're not." she turned back to him, her brows furrowed. "Why do you think (E/B/N) dumped me?"
Jasper grimaced as he heard (E/B/N)'s name come out of her mouth. He had never liked the guy, not because he was dating the girl Jasper liked, but because he didn't treat her even close to the way she deserved to be treated. In all their fights, Jasper was the one who comforted her, but he never got to tell her his thoughts about (E/B/N). However, he was surprised when he learned that (E/B/N) had dumped her. How stupid could that guy be?
