Saturday 7.45pm
"Babe can you hold this?" I passed my glass of champagne to Leo without looking, and I felt the weight lifted out of my hand, so I proceeded to unzip my clutch and rummage around, having both hands free.
I found my lipgloss and pulled it out, along with a small compact mirror, and turned to the window of the car to get some better light on my face, though it didn't help that the windows were tinted.
Untwisting the lipgloss, I brought it to my lips, coating my them as I tried to perfect it in the mirror that I held up in front of my face.
My arm jerked harshly as the wheels hit a bump in the road, and I looked to see a big streak of thick, sticky gloss smeared from across the corner on my mouth down to halfway across my chin.
I could hear Leo holding a suppressed snicker to the left of me, and I turned to glare at him. Upon seeing my face, he burst out laughing, his free hand coming to cover his mouth.
"You're lucky this lipgloss doesn't have any pigment otherwise I'd be a lot more agitated."
I picked up a makeup wipe from my little compartment that I held in the car and attempted to fix my face (I usually took my makeup off in the car after big events and interviews, so always kept makeup wipes in the car we were always chauffeured in).
Leo's laughing failed to cease, so I scowled at him again.
"You think it's funny?"
He nodded, "I think it's hilarious,"
I sighed a frustrated sigh, but his laugh and smile was so contagious I couldn't even be mad, so I practically jumped on him, attacking him with lipgloss.
"Still think it's funny now?"
He fought against my attempts, turning his head away while laughing, trying to divert my hands with one hand, while holding my glass of champagne up high with the other.
"Cut it out you dip shit," he chuckled, pushing me off him gently. We had never really got out of the habit of calling each other insulting names, seeing as we were best friends for so long before anything else, but old habits die hard, I guess.
"Here," I said, passing him the makeup wipes, "Clean your face, you look like a dog has slobbered all over you."
He rolled his eyes, "Wonder why that is."
The car slowed to a stop outside Soho House, where the Titanic wrap party was being held. We had finished our last Titanic interview today, meaning it was all over, and every single cast member was going to be here, along with some select few big name celebrities that were invited.
"Oh shit," Leo whispered as he eyed up the building, hurrying up with wiping his face clean before we had to get out of the car.
Meanwhile, I reached over to the other side of the backseat of the car, leaning over Leo to pick up my glass of champagne, and downing whatever was left, rather ungracefully, but maybe that was the British part of me that was a bit of a closet alcoholic.
"Alright I'm set." Leo said, handing over my mirror and wipes, which I shoved in my clutch and back in my beauty compartment accordingly.
