CHAPTER 27: In His Hands Again
.

"You're right. We'll be taking it then," Came a slightly familiar voice from the door before a grappling claw swooned past us and grabbed the glass cylinder.
Everyone had a look of panic as the cylinder was pulled outside and another man stepped in. Those by the door didn't seem affected at all, which was weird because I never recalled this as being part of the plan.
Still, it was worth it when I saw the familiar face of Rezar Friedric holding the artifact under his arm.
"Rezar! You-!"
"It's time you realize the gravity of our crime," Said Rezar, cutting off the doctor's statement, "I had already realized how wrong this was and I intend to make up for it."
"Talk about back-up," Maam Julie murmured with a smile.
The police officer beside her slowly stood up and reached for his gun, "A-alright. This has gone far enough," He stated in a hoarse voice as he pointed his gun at Michaele, "Let go of the kids,"
"You can't make me," Michaele hissed back, drawing the knife closer to the three hostages.
"Try it. Before you even hurt them, I'll blast your hand to pieces," The older man gave an experimental pull on the trigger, making Michaele flinch a bit before lowering the knife a little.
"Let them go, Michaele." Rezar stated in a firm voice.
The said man just glared at him. It turned into a silent contest with both men telephatically talking to each other with eye contact.
Of course, the distraction was enough for our advantage. Nicole and Naseem were already behind Michaele, and with one swift movement, he was tackled to the floor and our three classmates were pulled out of his clutches. Luckily, Regg took the liberty of taking the man's knife away as well, leaving him completely unarmed and cornered.
Michaele hissed in pain and frustration as he sat up. His glasses were also half-broken from the impact, and his once-slicked back hair was already disheveled. He looked like he was already panicking, but I can't blame him.
"I'll call the rest of the cops," Offered Angel as she made her way to the door and out.
The police officer with us approached Michaele, and with cautious moves, he managed to handcuff him. That was when we heaved a sigh of relief and the others also collapsed on their knees.
Rezar took quick steps towards Duan and handed him the glass cylinder, "I believe this belongs to you,"
I let out a smile when the Dullahan looked at me with an unsure expression. Seriously, this guy.
"It's yours once again," I said reassuringly.
Duan bit his lip and gratefully took his head back, which, by the way, looks like his current head now. With one swift movement, he opened the glass container and took it out.
We watched him intently as he reverted back to his original form with his horse, Schyle- scaring the police officer unconscious and freaking Michaele out. Rezar was just as indifferent as us, but we all had smiles.
"I can't express how grateful I am," Duan said with head in his hands, "I couldn't have gotten it back without your help..."
"We had fun, I guess," Klyde chuckled out.
We let out our own relieved laughters, which were cut short by the sound of the rest of the police officers stomping towards the stall.
"You guys can go now," Rezar offered as he fixed his glasses, "I'll stay and turn up to the police. Half of the stolen artifacts are here anyways,"
