CHAPTER 18: To Be Mine
.

"Duan?" I asked, slightly alarmed at his intense gaze.
"Him again, huh?" He hissed, yanking my wrist up while grabbing hold of the other in another tight grip, "What's with him?"
"What now, Duan?! Let go!" I retorted, trying to struggle out of his grip but failing. His strength was beyond human abilities that's why he kept me pinned on the wall.
Duan didn't respond for a while, making me look down uncomfortably while he kept glaring. Then suddenly, he leaned forward until his lips grazed the skin of my neck. I jerked back, about to yell something, but he pushed through again, capturing my neck with his lips.
"I don't like him," He muttered, hot breath lingering on my warm skin.
I shuddered, looking farther away from him and then replying, "He's my friend,"
He lifted his head up, this time, dangerously close to my ear, "I don't want you with him,"
"You can't... T-tell me that...!" It was so hard not to stutter when he had that unnatural lips of his breathing against my ear, slightly nibbling and teasing.
"I can," He pulled back gazing at me with clouded eyes, "Once I make you mine,"
This time, the words registered in my mind, "W-what-?! No!" I screamed, face furiously blushing.
"I want-"
"No! No! No!" I kept screaming, hopefully to alarm him to stop whatever crap he had in mind, plus I tried hard to trash against his grip, but still to no avail.
He stopped me the moment his forehead collided with mine, the back of my head hitting the wall behind me with a slight noise. I stared at him, unable to speak.
"Let me," His breath lingered against my face, and it wasn't as unpleasant as how I thought it would be.
I wanted to move, to scream, to kick him down, but I couldn't move. He was towering over me- me as a human, and him as a mythological being of dark origins.
But somehow, I didn't feel that threatened.
"Duan," I whispered, finally gathering the courage to speak up with a calmer voice, "Let go. I can't."
Still, he insisted, "You will," He removed his hand from one of my wrists, bringing it up to cup the back of my neck amd tilt my head up until I was staring into those void-like eyes.
"I'll make you like me,"
The words seemed to echo in my mind, not even seeping into it fully yet. I felt my face heat up, but still I couldn't look away.
Or that was until I felt something sharp graze my neck.
I flicked my eyes down and saw his hand that had moulded into some sort of scythe, pressing against my neck, slightly drawing out a thin line of blood.
"Like me," He repeated, and that was when I realized what he meant.
I thought the 'like' he said was something related to affection- but instead, it seems that he meant 'to be similar' to him- as a headless being!!
"N-no..!" I pushed my free hand against him, still not managing to make him budge, "Duan- I don't want to! Please!!"
I shut my eyes, fear already seeping into my bones. I bit my lip, looking down and trembling, "D-don't...!"
Duan's warm breath trickled against the back of my neck, and this time, that sensual tongue flicked out and lapped against it. I yelped, pushing back even more, thrashing my arms against his.
"Mine..." He whispered.
My eyes shot open and by instinct, my free hand swept across his face, effectively stunning him as his now reddened cheek swelled.
"Stop being so selfish, bastard!" I screamed, pulling my hands free and then storming off.
I could only get a glimpse of his disbelieving look as he watched me running off into the next corner and then disappearing from his line of sight.
I ran off blindly, making all sorts of turns and stops until I collapsed in a random alleyway. I sank to my rear, hugging my knees close to my chest and burrying my face against my arm. I didn't know what I just said back then, nor do I want to remember.
I said something wrong.
I breathed in and out, hoping to steady my burning self, confused mind and noisy heart.
