Chapter 6

Blaring Sirens

With a grunt, I hesitantly stood up. Loud, blaring sirens echoed throughout the surroundings. Tall buildings towered above. Brights lights leaked into the shadows as the setting sun went lower. I could hear the shouts of folks in multiple languages and accents. I twitched with shock and anxiety creeping in. My eyes saw him.

Why? Why, out of all people? Why? Where can I possibly be? Why is he the one individual I have to stuck in this predicament with??

A rough cackling mocked me in my brain. I hissed out loud and began to pace. My legs moved back and forth, gaining speed as my sanity was escaping me. 

Hamilton observed from the sidelines, silently. He was trembling slightly with fear, shock and confusion.

I yelled out, cursing to the world for my troubles. The laughing of an inner demon laughed hard. 

"Burr, I understand that is serious but I don't believe calling God a scoundrel will solve our predicament...."I heard Hamilton mumble logic to my ears.

"Oh! You're talking sense now? Hamilton?"I scowled at him, while turning around to be face to face with him.

Hamilton frowned with irritation and at the tone of my voice.

"How about we work together to solve the problem? Hm? Come one. Let's go seek something that'll prove as useful," Hamilton muttered before waltzing out of the safety of the alleyway.

"Hamilton!" I growled at him as he left my view.

Muttering to myself, I reluctantly followed...
