Chapter 13

Unusual Behavior

A. Burr

Getting back onto the subway train was a bit hectic. Not too difficult, but, there's a lot of people about. This Lin guy showed Alexander his Metrocard and how it's used, then let us through. Hamilton became increasingly fascinated with what the future holds within it. Meanwhile, on the subway, we thankfully found seats to sit on instead of clinging to the grimy, oily poles.

I kind of droned out Miranda and Hamilton's conversation about that theater we had seen earlier and that Miranda made the play. I could hear Hamilton's gleeful voice but it became muffled... My mind is trying to comprehend the events that occurred today... Not too long before, I spoke to Miranda with a language I have never known before... But, I do know that it was Spanish. All this information in my head left me dumbfounded and even more confused than before...

My head began to pound...harshly...

Voices of unseen individuals seemed to swarm around me, asking things...telling things...

Not again... Dammit...

My hands rubbed at my temples and I was hunched over in the seat a little bit.

The voices seemed to yell at me... Scolding me on my mistakes...

I felt myself beginning to tremble uncontrollably... Somebody nudged me.

"Burr? What's the matter? Not having your own play bothers you?" I heard Hamilton's muffled voice speak.

My body twitched and shook. I could hear the voices getting angrier....telling me things...telling me to do things...

"What's h-happening?" I heard a voice somewhere speak in a worried tone.

Shut up...

"I-I have no clue! H-hey, Burr!" I felt someone shaking me.

The crack of my nonexistent shell shattered...

"SHUT UP!" I shouted.

I heard muttering, murmuring and a cry of an infant...

The voices crowded my mind...

Images flickered through my mind. Some of them were mocking.

I felt myself muttering incoherent things out loud.

"W-what are you saying?" I heard a voice speak.

"No..." I whispered.

"Huh?"

"No!" I hissed loudly.

"Whoa... Hey! Y-you're fine. You're safe. Our stop's next-"I heard Miranda say to me.
