Chapter 21
Once More
A. Burr
The days had went on with a blink of an eye. It's been a little over a month since we had been here. I've been in and out of reality due to my condition... So, I guess that explains why is going so fast... The Miranda's have been a lot busier with work lately, so once in a while we would have to watch over their young one. I won't lie when I say that have grown quite fond of the child. It seems that in our relatively short time here that he has grown more... Sometimes while playing with Sebastian, I think of my daughter's well-being... How has her son grown? Did her illness worsen? How did she...pass? To satisfy my concerns, I searched up my daughter in a website called Google, on the phone Lin gave me(Hamilton got one too). I read about her son dying at a young age, as well as her husband and...as well as her. They words told that she was lost at sea... There were theories surrounding her passing.... What pained me most was that she was coming to New York to search for me... It's all my fault... With tears dripping from my sleep deprived eyes... I whispered mournfully...
"Theodosia...I'm sorry,"
......
My eyes blinked open, blinking away the sleep. I had realized that I had overslept... A rare occasion... Sun leaked from the curtains and it's light draped itself across the room. A peculiar feeling was in the air... It felt like something was off... My legs swung over the side of the bed. I stood up, stretching. I feel like a new man. Ignoring, the strange feelings, I walked to the curtains and drawn them open. The sun felt relaxing to me. Before I knew it I was opening the window... The sounds of the city filled my ears. I stood there enjoying the sunny summer morning. Over time I have grown to like the sounds of the city. I turned to see that Hamilton was not in the room. He must be in the shower... I went to my drawer and rifled through it for a few moments before settling on an outfit. Smiling to myself, I walked out of the room, whistling. Why am I so happy? Then, I realized that my brain was free of poisonous words and venomous voices. My smile grew. Maybe I'll be free for little bit today... An ear piercing scream filled the content atmosphere. I stiffened at the horrid sound. It came from the bathroom... Then, followed by a crashing/shattering sound and a thud. I heard frantic footsteps run down the hall...
Hamilton ran up, horrified... Shock filled me to the brim... I could tell why he was in panic-mode... He looked years younger than before. The youth restored to his bright eyes and the color returned to his reddish-brown hair. He looked like he could be 30 again... My breath was stuck in my throat as we stared into each other's eyes. I also noticed he had no shirt on... A small and unwanted blush filled my cheeks. Hamilton spoke up in horror.
"You too?!?! What the hell is happening?!?!"
I didn't respond... I did acknowledge that I felt a bit younger... He continued.
