Unsettling News
Ms. A. Hamilton
How can this even be in any sorts possibly?! I bit my fingernails to a literal stub, listening to what Mother and Doctor Pendleton were discussing in a hushed and rushed tone. My mother was sobbing from what I could hear and Dr. Pendleton had told her that he will help seek assistance. With a gentle creak, I heard the front door of the house close... I crept out of my hiding spot.
"M-mother?" I spoke in a nervous voice. She looked up at me with bloodshot eyes in which still had tears leaking from them.
"Hm?" She made the voice for me to continue speaking when sniffling.
"Is it the truth? A-about...father?" I answered, fumbling with my fingers trying to stay calm. My mother looked at me sadly and slowly nodded.
"It appears that...y-your father is missing...."
My vision blurred as anger and frustration filled me.
