Chapter 23

I've been locked in the basement for what feels like years, but it's probably only been a few hours. I somehow managed to cry myself to sleep, but now I'm wide awake and getting bored fast. Josh is probably still furious, especially since he has to clean up the blood, so I know it wouldn't be smart to try and get him down here. I guess all I can do is wait for him to calm down, but I really wouldn't mind having some water and a blanket right about now.

I shiver and pull my sweater closer around my body. It was a mistake wearing a crop top instead of a long sleeve shirt. The basement is always so cold, especially when it gets dark. The blankets are gone from the bed so all I have are my clothes, but I hope Josh will at least bring me a blanket soon.

My thoughts wear me out and I eventually fall back asleep. I'm woken up by the door opening and the sound of someone walking down the stairs, then I feel someone roughly shaking my shoulder, making me sit up and rub my eyes.

"Josh?" I ask, feeling confused.

"Get up. Follow me."

Josh grabs my arm and starts pulling me up the stairs to where the blood is from where he hit Tyler. I guess he didn't clean it up.

"Stay here. I'll be right back" he says in a stern voice and walks off, then comes back with a bin of cleaning supplies.

"You're cleaning this."

"What?"

"You're the cause of this mess so you're the one who's gonna clean it. You should've kept your mouth shut. I warned you Nicole."

"But Jo-"

"Unless you want me to go pay Tyler and Jenna a visit I suggest you start scrubbing." With that he walks off to another room.

Not wanting anyone to get hurt I start cleaning up Tyler's blood, feeling guilty that he got hurt because of me.
