Chapter 24

I finally finish cleaning the blood, and stand there not sure what to do next.

"Um Josh?" I call out quietly.

Josh walks in the room looking at me stiffly. "Yes?"

"I'm finished cleaning. Can I please have food?"

"You don't get anything until I fucking say so. You're not the one in charge here."

"Josh why are you so mad at me?"I ask quietly.

He ignores me and starts to walk away.

"Josh!"

Josh slowly turns around. "You fucking betrayed me Nicole. I thought I could trust you and you betrayed me.

"Josh I'm sorr-"

"I HAD TO HURT MY BEST FRIEND BECAUSE OF YOU!"

I stand still, looking down at the floor.

"You didn't have to hurt him" I say quietly.

"I had to teach you a lesson. Now you know what the consequences are when you disobey me. So shut your mouth before I lock you in the basement again."

I open my mouth to argue but decide it's better to keep quiet. "Yes Josh."

"Go to your room Nicole."

With that he walks away and I'm left standing there. I sigh and walk up the stairs to my room so I can try to relax, but even when I'm sitting tucked in my cozy bed, I can't stop thinking about what Josh said. He looked so upset and it's making me feel guilty. Maybe I should try talking to him later tonight when he's calm.

Ugh guys I'm so sorry for the short update again. I've been studying like crazy so that I can test for my drivers permit soon and that's been taking up a lot of my time, plus the writer's block is still here.
