Chapter 2

Lightningfrost continued to sit there, watching the butterfly's fly around the flowers in the clearing. She could hear paw steps coming up behind her. Shadestars scent drifted into her nose.

"The forest is beautiful isn't it?" He said slowly. Lightningfrost looked at him. His black pelt was shining in the sunlight, bright green eyes fixed on the forest.

"It is, its full of surprises" she said slowly dragging out her words.

Shadestar smiled, "You have a way with words Lightningfrost that will make a cat think twice about what they were going to say." Shadestar said turning to look at her.

She faced him and grinned, "Its not a bad thing" she said smoothly. Shadestar nodded his head in agreement. Suddenly everything froze, Lightningfrost was placed into a dark forest, cats were screeching and blood stained the damp floor. She started to panic as she could not move. Cats lunged at each other with their claws unsheathed. Cats charged through her, not seeming to notice that she was there.

"Horrific, isn't it?" Said a voice. The smell of blood had gone and been replaced by a sweet scent. It was Spottedleaf. The pretty she-cat walked towards her watching the fight cats.

"Aren't you going to do something?!" Lightningfrost snarled. Spottedleaf smiled weakly.

"This fight is over, this is just what happened." Spottedleaf sighed. Lightningfrost continued to watch the fighting cats.

"What happened?" Lightningfrost asked, her crystal blue eyes wide.

"Tigerstar happened. He attacked us in the night, he is growing stronger" she explained.

"Where is Hawkfrost?" She said, trying to hide the fact that she still cared for the brown tom.

Spottedleaf flicked her tail to where two toms where fighting some dark forest cats. The two toms were Strongpaw and Hawkfrost.

"He is in StarClan?" She said looking at Spottedleaf. The medicine cat then explained that Bluestar let him join StarClan because he saved her life.

"Why did Tigerstar attack?" Lightningfrost asked after Spottedleaf had finished. The screeching still continued.

Spottedleafs sweet scented was now gone and the horrid stench of blood leaked into the forest, once again. A cat limped past Lightningfrost, her eyes full of fear, blood leaked fom her neck, but a dark forest cat jumped on her back and killed her in a swift move.

Lightningfrost snarled as she noticed the StarClan cats killer, Darkstripe.

"He attacked for many reasons, he knew that Hawkfrost had joined StarClan and was angry. He wanted to let us know that he was strong" Spottedleaf said.

"Is that why I'm here? To watch innocent cats die!" She shouted. Anger was burning inside her. If StarClan let her join the battle she could have saved that she-cat and fought alongside her brother.

"I received another prophecy." Spottedleaf mumbled. Lightningfrost froze, another prophecy maybe to tell her about the Mountain of Secrets!

"Tell me what it is!" She spat. She was so angry so couldn't no longer control her temper. Spottedleaf sighed.

"The cats with the power of the clans in their paws will meet. They shall make the stones that lead a path and tell a story, and open their eyes to the tree that holds power and wisdom. Night will bring peace once again with one wish. One more clan shall be brought back and fire will be among it. Lightning will have to forget about the hawk what sends frost and focus on the other bird in the sky and then a greater destiny shall begin." Then the screeching of the cats faded.
