"We are upstairs, I've got some homework to finish." Lauren shouted to the people in the living room as they passed to get upstairs.

A few mumbles are being heard before Lauren lets the brunette pass, making her go upstairs in front of her. The stairs are too small to walk along side each other.

Carefully Lauren puts a hand on the girls hip, hoping to keep her more in balance as she walks a bit rocky. But the girl puts her hand above hers, given them a little tap for Lauren to let her go.

Against her will Lauren lets go, what if she falls? She can understand the brunette wants to do it on her own, but sometimes you need others to help you.

To Lauren's surprise the girl doesn't only makes it upstairs without even falling once, she also perfectly walks to Lauren's room. Without directions.

She has no idea how the brunette has got a clue about in which room she sleeps, or even in which bed.

But there she is, sitting on Lauren's bed waiting for Lauren to catch up with her.

Lauren quickly walks to a small desk in the corner of the room to get her books before joining the girl on the bed.

An awkward moment passes as they both sit in silence, neither of them making a move to do something at all. She feels the girls eyes on her but she's to scared to look in her direction.

When she gathers the courage to look at the girl, she finds those eyes focused on her lap instead of her face. Looking at her lap she finds the book Left To Tell she's supposed to read for her English class.

Turning back again Lauren decides to break the silence. "You want to read it?" She asks carefully.

In a matter of a second the girls eyes land on hers, before she starts to bow her head down, shutting the world around her off again.

"No it's okay, really you can have it." Lauren tries again, not wanting to make her uncomfortable. Maybe when she has her mind on a story instead of her own life it could help her to get back on track. At least it would suck her up for a while, letting her forget everything around her in a good way. A good escape.

" I did." Two words but they make Lauren heart flutter. Silence hits them again, as Lauren's mind tries to form a sentence she can utter out to continue a conversation. "Mind giving me a cheat sheet?" Lauren jokes hoping the girl would give her at least some response. A joke is fine, right?

A small chuckle left the girls mouth, making her own fall open in surprise. Did she just imagine that?

She doesn't get enough time to progress it as the girl actually starts to talk. "Ten minutes," she starts grabbing the book from Lauren's hand. "Ten minutes after I finished it I was being taken," she trails off.

Quickly Lauren puts her own hand over the girls, trying to be comforting. "It's okay." She speaks up, urging her for to continue when she's ready for it.

She hears the brunette take a deep breath before continuing. "Before this man and woman dragged me in this mini van."

"How long did they take you?" Lauren wonders, hoping not to be too froward with her question that she will shut down once again.

"Lauren it's pointless." Her roommate Jessie points out, laughing at the end. Only hearing Lauren asking her question when she came in. "Not that she would ever tell you something, but she doesn't even speak English."

Lauren looks over to the brunette, who finds a great interest in her fingers laying in her lap. "I think you should put more confidence in her." Lauren says, making the brunette lift her gaze to look at her. She gives her a small smile hoping that the girl understand that Lauren means every word she said.

"Well you should try and convince that too everybody else, the girls keep talking about how they think she might never eat or smile. Or maybe even take a shower and sleep peacefully." Jessie snickers again settling in on her bed.

"What kind of fuckery is this, Jess? She's only been her for one fucking day. So what she doesn't do those things, last time I checked it didn't effect you. " Lauren starts, getting up from her sitting position.

She's mad, and ain't nobody is going to stop her to get her point straight. "Not to forget that all girls are afraid when they come here because of their traumatic experience. Don't make me remind you how you came in her. Do you think it would've helped you if we all turned our back towards you and only show interest in you to point out how imperfect you are fucking right in front of face." Lauren ranted, shouting the last part.

"Geez Lauren, she doesn't even understand me. All I'm saying is that all the girls who come here do show some gratitude. And when they don't eat they at least shower. And when they don't talk they at least sleep. She asks for attention and then she turns it down once she gets it." Jessie answers defensively standing up on her foot to level Lauren. Raising her own voice too.

"That's it." Lauren hissed, loosing her temper. She attacks Jessie, getting her on the floor in a matter of seconds. Being on top of her, Lauren gets pulled down by her hair. Making them turn and Lauren being bottom.

Jessie slaps her across the face stirring an unpleasant burn near her eye. Before Lauren can turn the tables Jessie gets pulled of her. Getting her upper body from the floor, by leaning on her elbows, she sees Jessie being hold back by Rose and Chimamanda.

Lauren wipes her hand across her face, flinching when it comes in contact with her wound. Looking at her hand she finds some blood on it. That bitch caused her to bleed.

It means Lauren loses if that bitch is going to get away unharmed, and never ever ever would Lauren lose a fight in her life. It makes her get back on her feet again, ready to storm at Jessie, who is focused on Rose. Who is doing a horrible job at trying to calm her down.

If only Lauren knew what she could lose when she stormed at Jessie once again...
