They had been sitting on the bench for some minutes now, just staring at each other wondering if it was real. What were the chances they would run into each other again in a busy city like New York. It made the both of them speechless.

"How, why." She wasn't able to form a normal sentence just yet.

"I'm here for two months now, once they released me from psych I didn't want to go back to Miami. Too much memories."

"I get it." Lauren replied, it was the very same reason why Lauren left Miami too the very first change she got. A wealthy man heard her story trough her aunt and granted Lauren a full scholar ship. Ironic to Lauren, doing a good deed with the money he ripped off from hard working people.

"How are you holding up? I mean after you've been released from psych."

"I'm okay. About to graduate actually." Seeing Lauren's confused face she decided to elaborate. "I've been taking special classes in the evening to catch up with everything that I've missed so far. And in a few months I'll be getting my high school degree."

"Wow Camz. That's impressive." She blushed hearing the nickname, Lauren had given her, again after two years. Looking down to hide it she sees their joined hand laying in her lap. She couldn't help but give it a small squeeze. Just to make sure it was all real.

And when Lauren squeezed back she knew it was real. She also knew she wasn't planning on letting go either.

"I can't believe it's you." It was Lauren again to break the silence. "The past two years I've been thinking about all kind of scenarios on how we would meet. But I never thought about running into you just like that in a busy city like New York."

"I believe it's fate." Lauren added after a few second of silence.

Was it fate?

Camila wondered, her head stuck with the question. She wondered had she been thinking so much of Lauren that it caused her to meet her today. The girl hadn't left her mind a single second the past two years. Every time she was sad, Lauren was her pillar to lean on. Every time that she was happy, she would wish Lauren was there to see it.

Even before she had met the green eyed girl, would it be possible that in her darkest day she was imaging Lauren? She remembers how her mind would drift away to something imaginary. A person that would make her feel safe, wanted and loved. Was it possible she needed the person she hadn't crossed path yet, but in the near future would.

Maybe it was indeed some sort of fate.

And sometimes you have to take fate in your own hands.

That's why Camila reached hers out, asking for Lauren's phone.

Who hastily gave it to her, unlocking it with her freezing finger due the autumn weather. A few seconds later Camila handed it back. Explaining she texted herself to have Lauren's number too.

"We should do something soon, to catch up." Lauren insisted. Hoping the bond they once had was still intact, Lauren was eager to get back on track soon. She had been searching her past two years for someone who could give her the same feeling as Camila gave her, to always end up empty handed and with a bucket full of disappointment.

"I missed you so much."

"You don't have to anymore, I promise." Lauren reassured taking the brunette in her arms. Which she gladly accepted.
