When her hand laid down on hers, Lauren could feel her heart beat raise. Maybe to the person in front of her it was just a normal move. It was a move to show Lauren that she was glad she could make it, even though she was running late to their diner.

But Lauren wondered could the person in front of her possibly feel it too, could her girlfriend feel this connection too?

8 hours earlier

Her fingers were searching for the button she was dreading to punch, anything to do to make that annoying sound stop. She will throw hat stupid clock against the wall if she need to listen to it one more second.

How stupid can she be? She forgot to shut of her alarm when today was her free day. Now here she is, 7 in the morning with her head between her heads.

Normally she's one of those people that could just toss around and go back to sleep. But now she couldn't, something was on her mind. Well, someone was on her mind.

She quickly checked her phone hoping to find a message of the girl, but her notification box was empty. She figured it wouldn't hurt to make the first move, only she didn't know what to type.

She decided a small 'hi' would work for now, just so the brunette knows she's on her mind. There was no way she could close one eye from now, she would check every ten seconds to be certain she hadn't text back.

So she got her ass out of bed and got her some breakfast. More like a banana and milk, but she wasn't a big eater in the morning.

When her phone beeps in the bedroom she turns all Mario kart, racing over to the room in a fast speed as she tosses the banana peel behind her, aiming for the counter.

But it doesn't feel that she's in first place as the text didn't belong to the girl she hoped it to be. Instead it was her girlfriend. With a lot she sat down on the bed, ready to read one of those too chalky good morning texts. When she opened it she could count at least five hearts.

It was only the last sentence that made her heart beat faster. Can't wait to see you at work today.

So maybe she didn't forget to shut off her alarm, maybe she forgot that she had to work. She quickly checked the time. Her shift started in half a hour. So half a hour minus the twenty five minutes drive, ten minutes to change and shower real quick and five minutes to put on her makeup giving her minus ten minutes to get ready.

Either way she's fucked, well if she was going to be late anyway than why should she rush.

She checks her phone one last time as she walks in the restaurant. She can feel her girlfriends eyes on her as she walks to the back. She knows Alesia was going to be pissed at her for not telling her she was late, or even text her back. She had to make it right tonight.

Her manager just gave her a scolded look for being late, Lauren guesses she's used to it now. The manager must have realized no matter how much she would tell Lauren to come on time, Lauren would just stick to her own agenda.

"Babe." There was only one person left that was killing her with her eyes, and she knew that she had every right to be. Lauren promised her when they got back together a week ago she would try to open up more to her. So she hugged the blonde from behind kissing her right under her ear. "I'm sorry, okay."

There was no response, even though Lauren was sure Alesia was trying her hardest not to give in right on the spot. Lauren couldn't deny that the girl was so hopelessly in love with her, that she could get away with anything. Even the not so pretty things she did that cause them to break up in the first place.

"Let me make it up to you." She kissed the girls shoulder now, her hands disappearing under her shirt. "How about a romantic diner tonight, we can go to your favorite restaurant."

Lauren was teasing her and it worked, she was almost manning her response, sensing it she decided to just nod.

"Great, meet me there at seven." Lauren says retaining her hands. She turns around leaving her girlfriend behind. Who turns to her in confusion. "Wait, you're not picking me up?" Her voice sounds slightly irritated.

"I'm sorry, I have to go somewhere first."
