"Got the pizzas." Lauren shouts after opening the door. She sees her girlfriend eyeing her, lifting her gaze from her phone. She puts the pizzas on the table in front of Alesia. She's been drooling over those pizzas the second they picked them up, she's absolutely starving.
Before she can devour them she quickly skips to the kitchen, getting three wine glasses from the kitchen.
She makes a turn for the refrigerator to get the wine bottle only to find her girlfriend leaning against the fridge, already a bottle in her hand. "Got it babe." She winked, popping the bottle.
"I'm so hungry." Camila complained letting herself drop on the couch. Drawing both of their attentions. It made Lauren subconsciously smile, she already began to wonder where that girl went off to.
Alesia could barely blink or Lauren was already next to Camila on the couch along with the glasses and bottle she didn't even realize that had been taken out of her hands.
"Remember when we went to that Italian restaurant two years ago, I have never seen a person eat so much as you did." Lauren laughed, along with Camila.
Enjoying each other's company already too much for Alesia's liking. She wasn't going to play third wheel this night, Camila was.
"That reminds me, where did you guys actually meet?" She intervened their conversation, joining them on the couch.
"At school." Lauren answered at the exact same time as Camila, only she answered at work. They both turned to each other not sure on how to explain that, and they were stupid if they believed she was going to let it go before she was given an explanation. "Uhm we indeed talked for the first time at my work, but I already knew by her face as she was a cheerleader in our school." Lauren saved quickly.
"I actually knew you too," Camila made up, deciding to fireback at the nasty looks Alesia was serving her the whole time, "Lauren has never been good at sneaking glances."Camila said directly to her, making her believe Lauren had a crush on her.
Lauren felt the atmosphere change around her as she watched both girls interact with each other. She decided it was best not to intervine, just yet. So she got a slice of pizza to stuff her mouth full. "Have you told her how we met, sweety?"Alesia questioned bringing her into the conversation. She sat closer to her, throwing her arm around laurens shoulder.
"No. Actually, she hasn't said that much about you." Camila responded for Lauren who was still chewing on her pizza, not expecting that she needed to speak. Lauren saw in the corner of her eye Camila giving her all to sarcastic sweet smile as Alesia's arm loosed around her shoulder.
She knew she needed the both of them to cool down, it would end bad if she wouldn't.
"Let's cheers." Lauren spoke up, filling the three glasses with wine. She gave one first at Camila, who she gave a pointed look hoping to get her point across. Same she did to Alesia while handing over the glass, who didn't only get a hold of the glass. She also grabbed Lauren's hand, putting it in her lap.
She gave a squeeze in her hand. Maybe Lauren was a jerk and deserved the worst girlfriend of the year award. But she understands in what kind of positions she's putting her in. Camila and her are a special case, not easy to get in between.
"I'd like to say a toast." Camila interjects, making both the girls turn to her."Porque," Camila started, holding Lauren eyes captive in her own. "siempre hay luz al final del tunel."
"Cheers to that." Lauren agreed, clenching her glass with Camila's. Yes, they were indeed a special case Lauren thought as they continued to stare into each other's eyes in silence. "What the fuck did she say?" Alesia questioned, breaking their gaze. Not even realizing Camila spoke Spanish. "Thats there's always light at the end of the tunel."
