The timer goes off sending me back to the present, finding that the boys returned Robert to an almost cleaned passenger seat and Austin returning his place in the backseat with me.
"Are you okay?" Austin asks
"Yeah, yeah just thinking."
"Would you like to share with the entire car what you were thinking about?" Zach asks
"I was thinking about Austin naked to everyone in the car!" I joke
"To much information Carter, to much."
"You asked Dorsey."
"Yeah, well I'll never ask again."
"What were you really thinking about?" Austin says catching my eyes.
"I was thinking about the first time I met Robert."
Austin's hand releases from mine and all he can say is,
"Oh."
The car gets awkward. We finally reach Robert's home and Zach drops Robert off having to take Robert all the way to his room leaving Austin and I in the car. Austin looking out the window, and I staring at my hands. Our eyes met several times but always returns to him looking out the window and I, my hands.
"Do you still like him?" Austin says breaking the silence.
"No, why would you ask that?"
"Well, when you joked around saying you thought of me naked, I felt good because even though you were joking I figured you were thinking about me. But then you said you were thinking about Robert."
"Austin, I don't like him anymore. He's my past. He likes Sadie, well I think he does. He's drunk, we don't have anything between us."
"Are you sure? Cause he sure wanted you to sit on his lap, and you to were extra close at the party."
"Austin, did you not see me when you kissed me? Did you see my knees and legs? I was shaking from just your one kiss. Robert never did that to me and never will."
"I don't know. I just have trust issues a lot. One time I was tricked by this cookie. I thought it was chocolate chip but really it was oatmeal raisin and ever since then--"
I grab Austin and pull him close to me by his shirt cutting his words off and our eyes meet each others for a second and then we're exploring each others mouths again, just like we did in his bedroom.
