Today I’m going to my second doctors appointment and hang out with Mama J. Mama told me she wanted to have girls time with me when I was at her house for Christmas and since we’re both free today we’re going to get our nails done and go out to lunch. My mother is flying to LA today and she’s going to spend the day with Chris. Right now Chris and I are in the examination room waiting for my doctor, Nurse Jackie to come in.

"Are you excited?" I asked Chris. He was sitting in a chair next to me staring at the door with anticipation.

"I just want this doctor to come on." Chris said, not looking away from the door.

"I want her to hurry up too. My mom should be landing soon."

"Don’t worry about it. I think we’ll make it to the airport in time."

"Are you nervous about meeting my mom?"

"I met her before."

"Yeah when we were like seventeen."

"Why would I be nervous? She loves me. You see the way we talk on the phone."

"That doesn’t mean she likes you. She just thinks you’re cute."

"Everyone thinks I’m cute."

"Shut up. No they don’t."

"Don’t hate me cuz I’m yellow." I rolled my eyes and shook my head as Nurse Jackie came through the door.

"Good morning. How are you feeling today?" She asked me.

"I’m fine."

"We’re gonna take a look at the baby today and I’m not using the wand this time." Jackie washed her hands, put on her gloves and checked my blood pressure and my heart rate.

"Everything looks normal. You’ve been taking your vitamins and eating healthy right?"

"Uh…I’ve been taking my vitamins."

"You’ve been eating junk food after I told you not to?" She asked as she started setting up the monitor.

"I’ve been craving sweets really bad and I just give in."

"I thought you were suppose to be helping me out with that Dad."

"I try but she doesn’t cooperate with me."

"Like I said, it’s okay to eat some of the bad things every once in a while but you have to eat healthy too."

"I know."

"Go ahead and lay down so we can take a look at this baby." I did as she asked and she lifted up my shirt and put gel on my stomach.

"Woah that’s cold."

"I’m sorry. This stuff is always cold."

"There’s my baby." Chris smiled proudly as he looked at the image on the monitor.

"Yep,there’s the little guy right there."

"So it’s a boy?" He asked quickly.

"I don’t know. We have to wait three more months until we find out the sex."

"But you said little guy."

"I didn’t mean it like that." Jackie laughed and I could see the disappointment in his face.

"Aww. Somebody was hype."

"Don’t worry. She’ll be five months in no time."

"It looks like a tad pole. I know he can’t help that he looks like his mother-"
