Cat's POV:
When we arrived at school we got out of the car. I turned towards Lola and she said
"Cat I'm going to see my parents would you like to come?" Lola asked "No, you go I'll just walk around until we start" she nodded going to her parents.
I walked around seeing everybody with their parents. I let out a deep sigh wishing my parents were here today with me.
I dismissed the thought and tried calling Max again but he wouldn't pick up.
Then I heard the sound of our president asking all the students to stand on the stage.
The president started calling the names and every student got their graduation certificate.
All the students took their certificates and descended the stage going to their families to congratulate them.
When it was my turn I went to take my certificate and looked around hoping Max would be their but he wasn't. I really felt so lonely at the moment.
"Cat OMG!! I can't believe we're now graduated from school" Lola said hugging me
"Yeah me too I can't believe it" I said trying to mask my sadness but failed.
"Hey you okay Cat?" Lola asked with concern.
"Yeah I'm good it's nothing. I'll just go back home because I'm feeling tired" I said giving her a small smile.
"You sure you're good? I could take you home if you want" She offered
"No Lola it's okay. I want to have a walk" I said.
"Okay as you wish" she said hugging me. I hugged her back and got out of the school walking back home thinking about Max.
Walking back home was a bad idea because the way their had to many dark allies and the sun was setting so it became dark.
I was near the house when I heard the sound of footsteps behind me.
I started walking faster without looking back and the footsteps started moving even faster.
I cursed myself for not accepting Lola's offer to bring me back home.
Then I felt something hard hit me in the back of the head and I was knocked unconscious.
But before darkness consumed me, I saw the face of my brother Max and heard him muttering a quite sorry.
