Chapter 37

Cat's POV:

"Me, Xavier and our parents were living a normal life until our father got killed by non other than Brad because he witnessed the murder of one of his friends that took money from Brad and didn't return it on time, so of course he had to pay and dad was there when it happened. Xavier and dad were very close so when dad was murdered Xavier fell into depression, he wouldn't eat for days or sleep, he shut himself from the outer world, he stayed locked up in his room without doing anything but staring at a blank wall until one day he decided that he will make Brad pay. And that is when he and Alex created their own gang and started training the men they found in the streets to be their best. Xavier fought his way through all the gangs here in New York so he could he at the top and he succeeded. But of course everything comes with it's consequences. When Xavier became the top gang leader that means he was higher than Brad so when Brad knew that Xavier was the son of the innocent man he killed and that Xavier wanted revenge he wanted to make Xavier suffer because he became better than him. He knew that family meant everything to Xavier, so he kidnapped me to make Xavier submit to him. He tortured and raped me all in front of Xavier" Amelia said with tears streaming down her face and my face as well.

I held her hands in mine to comfort her even though I needed to comforted also.

Being pregnant didn't help in keeping my hormones and emotions in check so I was an emotional mess.

Amelia continued and it made me cry even more "Xavier kept crying and shouting while trying to free himself from the restrains that were holding him but it was no use. And then they shot me in the heart right in front of him also. Two months later I woke up and found myself in a small house in the middle of nowhere. I was confused with everything around me until a man stepped into the small house. He said that Brad ordered him to dump me where my body wouldn't be found but when he took me away he noticed that I was still alive but my heart beats were so slow. It turned out that the bullet missed my heart by a very tiny space. He brought a doctor to treat my wounds and I lived. He didn't tell Brad about that I was still alive. We stayed with each other and we fell in love in just a month and then I got pregnant. We were so happy. Unfortunately I couldn't get back to my family because if I did Brad would know and he would hurt my baby daddy. I was eight months pregnant when Brad knew that I was still alive and I was in a relationship with one of his men. I don't know how he knew but then Brad and his men took me again and killed my baby. I've been here for months being tortured once or twice every week in front of my boyfriend. He too is held in one of the cells on the other side of the house and he also gets tortured in front of me because he betrayed his leader." she finished her story and by the time she was done we were both and emotional wreck.

I hugged her to me not knowing if I'm comforting her or comforting myself after what I just heard.

She went through a lot more than what I went through.

"You're so brave and so strong that you were able to tell your story to a stranger you just met. I was put in similar situations just like you. I was kinapped, tortured and raped also so I can imagine what you've went through but I can't imagine what I'll bee like if I lost my babies like you lost yours. If I were you I would have lost it. I would have killed myself also that proves that you're so strong and that you survived a lot without breaking." I said hoping my words would comfort her.

"But Cat I feel like I would break anytime soon. I feel like it's just a matter of time and then I won't be able to stay strong." she said.

I pulled away from the hug and held her face in my hands "Look at me Amelia" she looked in my eyes and I saw all I saw was hurt and pain in them.

"I'm here now with you. We will go through everything together until Xavier comes and gets us out of here. You wanna know what I just realised?" I said.
