Chapter 35

Xavier's POV:

Me and Danny headed back home when he got copies from the information.

I headed to my office while Danny went to call the others so we can discuss the new information.

A few minutes later me, Alex, Danny, Ben and a beaten up Mason were sitting in my office and they were watching the footage.

They were all very furious when they saw what happened. And they started bombarding me with questions.

"Silence" I said cutting them off.

I put the file that had the information about Louis in front of them and they started reading it.

"So this guy is Brads son, but what does he have to do with all of this" Ben asked.

"He's the waiter from last night and he's the same boy who followed Cat in to the bathroom and kidnapped her" I explained to them.

They probably couldn't recognise the boy because his face wasn't that visible in the video.

They all started cursing and muttering things under their breaths.

I was happy that they were this angry with the information, it showed me how much they cared about Cat and loved her.

From the moment I set eyes on her she was already a part of our gang. We were all a family, she was a new member that was added to the family and they all accepted her with open hearts.

And I was more happy that they were angry because this anger will help me when it's time to take down Brad and his men.

I cut them off when I talked. "Mason, how are you today and why aren't you in bed?" I said.

"I'm good boss and I was just shot in the leg nothing big so I don't need to stay in bed" he said.

"Okay, but if you feel tired you could take a break if you want" I said.

"Thanks boss" he said.

"So tell me, what happened between you and Jake?" I asked.

"You know me and Jake share a room together. So I was gonna go to our room to sleep when I heard him talking on the phone in a hushed tone. So I got  suspicious, I stood outside the door and tried to listen what he was saying. He was saying and I quote

'since you have her now, I want my money. Oh, and don't forget I get to have a taste of her. I always wondered how she was in bed. But Xavier had her wrapped around his finger that nobody could even touch her.'

When I heard what he said, I couldn't hold it in me anymore and I barged in the room and hit him. But he had his gun on him so he was able to shoot me and then he jumped out of the window" By the time he finished talking I was furious.

Every time I hear or see something new  I feel my anger rise to a whole new level.

There was a knock on the door that interrupted us "Come in" I said.

Brianna came in "What is it Bri?" I asked.

"Ummm.. Xavier, you have a visitor" she said gesturing with her hands behind her.

I was confused because I didn't invite anybody. She then stepped out of the office and then someone came in.

Someone I thought I would never see again. But there she was standing in front of me with a warm smile on her face and tears in her eyes.

"Get out all of you"  the guys immediately got up and went out of the office closing the door behind them.

And I was left in complete silence with no other than my mother.

We kept starring at each other without any of us breaking the silence.

I decided I was gonna be the one to break the silence.

"M..mom" I said stuttering.

And that's when she finally broke down in tears and she came rushing to me. Hugging me and muttering the word 'sorry' a million times.

I hugged her back so hard with tears running down my face also.

I finally felt the comfort and love I was missing for so long.

We pulled away from the hug and she held my face in her delicate hands.

I talked before she could say anything "Mom, I'm so sorry for everything. I know it was my fault that I couldn't prot-"

She cut me off and said "No, don't apologise and it's not your fault at all that your sister died. I was just mad and sad that she was gone and I was looking for someone to blame and you just happened to be  the one. It's not your fault, I know you did everything you can to protect her but things don't always work out as we want. I'm the one who needs to apologise for  putting this burden on your shoulder and blaming you for her death. You are my son and she was my daughter. Just like I lost my daughter, you lost your sister. I should have  stayed by your side, and comforted each other rather than leaving you suffer on your own." She finished and kissed my forehead.

I took her hand and we sat on the couch. "Mom, I need you so much right now." That was all I needed to say for her to understand what I needed.

She immediately pulled my head to her lap, running her fingers through my hair and started singing to me my favourite lullaby that she always used to sing to me when I was young to comfort me.

We sat like that for half an hour or something. Me crying and her comforting me.

I sat straight and held her hands, I wanted to tell her about Cat and what I'm going through.

"Mom, Can I talk to you about something" I said.

"If  you mean talking about the woman who stole my babys heart, I already know about her" she said while smiling softly at me.

"How do you know?" I asked.

"It doesn't matter from where I know, what matters now is that you need to have faith that you will get her back" she said rubbing her thumb on the back of my hand.

"Mom, I'm so afraid that he will hurt her. She's six months pregnant with twins. I fear that something bad could happen to her leading to the babies getting hurt" I said with tears streaming down my face.

She hugged me to her chest and said "Don't worry my son. You will get her back and the babies will be okay. You will live happily with your family by your side and I won't leave you alone. I'll stay with you, by your side."
