Chapter 31

Xavier's POV:

It's been five minutes since Cat went to the bathroom and she haven't returned yet and I already started getting worried about her.

I thought maybe the stain is taking time to be removed so I decided to wait another two minutes and if she didn't come back I'll go look for her.

After the two minutes passed, I couldn't take it anymore. I stoop up and went to where the womens bathroom was and bagged inside like  I owned the place.

There were two women in here, they both screamed when they saw me. I ignored them and went searching for Cat but I couldn't find her.

I started getting nervous and scared that something might have happened to her but I quickly dismissed the thought not wanting to expect the worse.

I went back to where the two women were and asked them if they saw her, they both shook their heads and turned away.

I went out of the bathroom and back to our table thinking that she might have came back when I got up and I didn't see her but she wasn't there, I looked around the restaurant but she wasn't anywhere in sight.

Now I couldn't brush off the feeling thay something bad might have happened to her. I went to turn around to go out of the restaurant but before I went away, I noticed a samll paper that sat on the chair where she was sitting earlier.

I quickly took it and read what was written in it. I felt fear consume my body and I immediately wwent rushing out of the restaurant and towards my car.

I was driving back home and I couldn't stop thinking about what was written in the paper.

I told you that you should take extra care of her right? But you didn't take my words into consideration.

You've always been like that Xavier, thinking that you could control everything and that you will have everything your way.

You never learn from past mistakes, do you?

That basterd dared to take her away from me! He took my kitten from me, and I couldn't protect her.

I slammed my fist in to the steering wheel, I felt tears threatening to fall from my eyes.

I've tried to stay strong for so long but I just couldn't take it anymore.

Tears started falling down my face. I felt like I was suffocating and that it was impossible to breath. I loosened my tie but it seemed like the oxygen couldn't find it's way into my lungs.

Tears blurred my vision from the road, I tried to blink them away to clear my vision but it seemed like the tears had a mind of their own and they just kept flowing down my face.

I have failed again. I have failed to protect the ones I love again. I broke my promise, I couldn't protect her like I had promised her.

Again for the second time, he took away the moat precious thing I own. He took her from me!

One moment I was so focused on my thoughts and the other, I found myself jerking forward and slamming my head into the steering wheel, feeling the strong impact of the car hitting the tree.

I felt dizzy and I felt blood trailing down from my for head.

I opened the car door and stepped out. Once I stood up and took a step forward, I collapsed to the floor, seeing black dots forming in front of my eyes.

I blinked and leaned against the car. I took my phone out and dialled Alex. After the third ring he picked up.

'Hey man, aren't you supposed to be at your date with Cat? Why are you calling? ' he said.

Once he said Cat's name, I couldn't hold it in anymore and I burst into tears.

'Xavier, what's wrong? Why are you crying' he asked.

'They took her Alex. They fucking took her away from me Alex!' I said with sadness and anger in my voice.

'What?! What are you saying? How did that happen?  Where are you?' he said.

'Come take me. I had an accident. I'll send you my location' I said ending the call with him.

I immediately sent him my location and waited for him to come pick me up.

I forced myself to get up and to stop crying. I promise you this time kitten, I'll come get you and free you from him.

But this time I won't let him go. I'll make sure to rip out his beating heart from his chest with my own bare hand and watch him take his last breathes.
