Hello hello hello again my friends. I know, l know, its been a while since I updated. I've just been really lazy recently. Well, enjoy, I guess.
Yuuri's POV
"Me, and all of the people in this room, track and kill zombies."
A look of shock creeps over his face, and he starts edging away from all of us. He doesn't get far before he grasps his head in pain, and is forced to stop moving and lay down. He curls up into a ball and starts mumbling to himself.
"This can't be real! No, no, it really can't be real! I must still be sleeping or something! Yeah, yeah, that's it. I'll wake up and this will all be just a bad dream." I reach out and lightly touch his shoulder. He flinches away, and silences his mumbling.
"Viktor, believe me, you are completely awake right now. I wish it were a dream, but it's not. We all hunt zombies in our free time." He uncurls from the ball he is in, and looks at me, a disbelieving expression on his face. Tears start to form in the corners of my eyes, and I look away from him.
"Viktor, don't you understand?" I say, trying, but failing, to keep my voice steady. "This is why I tried to push you away. If I told you, you wouldn't believe me. I would try to keep you safe, but you would just laugh at me for being silly." Tears are steadily streaming down my face now. I start to talk in a quiet whisper. "I told you before, I can't lose another person I love."
He stands up despite all of the pain in his head, stumbling towards me. He reaches me, and wraps his arms around my waist in a hug. All around me I hear the sarcastic "Awwwes" from all of my friends. I ignore them and return Viktor's hug.
Viktor's POV
I stand there, hugging Yuuri tightly to comfort him. I have seen him cry too much for my liking during these past few days, and I need to do something about it. He pulls away slightly so he can look me in the eyes.
"So......do you believe me?" I smile at him, and pull him back into the hug.
"Forever and always, my love. I will believe you no matter how crazy the story sounds." I feel his chin start to tremble, and I notice that he's crying again. Oh crap, did I do this? I was trying to keep him from crying, but I just made him cry even more. I pull away and wipe the tears from his face. I start to apologize for making him cry again, but he cuts me off.
"T-that's such a relief." He says, in between sniffles. "I-I thought you w-would just immediately reject the i-idea. Thank you so much for believing me Viktor. I'm happy you're my soulmate." He smiles at me, turns to face everyone else, and starts talking to them.
"Alright everybody. Viktor is part of our team now whether he likes it or not. He may not be able to see the zombies, but you will treat him with As much respect as anyone else here. If you don't," he bares his teeth, "there will be consequences. Everybody got that?" They all frantically nod their heads up and down. Man,Yuuri must be the boss or something. Everyone seems pretty scared of him.
He turns back to me. "And you," he says, "will train, and become as strong as us. We can't have weak people on the team. Yes, it's true that you can't see the zombies, but you can help patch us up after fights. And if for any reason you are with us when we fight and I tell you to run, run as fast as you can. We need you to be able to run for a while without getting tired for that reason."
He turns to face everyone else yet again. "Now, all of you back to whatever you were doing before Viktor woke up." They all disperse, and suddenly Yuuri is facing me. "You must have a few questions."
"Only a few!?!? I have way more than that! Who are these people? Where did you meet them? Why can't I see the zombies? How were you fighting them if you were all sitting in here?" He laughs and grabs my arm as he walks, pulling me towards an empty room.
"We can talk in here. This way, the rest of the crew will leave us alone for at least a little while." He ushers me into the room, and walks through a few seconds later.
"Alright, the first question: who are these people. Well, these people are recruits that I had join my team to help me throughout the war with the zombies. I carefully choose my team members, knowing that I must trust them with my life.
Next question: where did I meet them. I have met many people in many different places. Some discovered my group and felt as though they needed to help, because they also saw the zombies and wanted to contribute to fighting them. We also looked through records at hospitals, and saw if anyone talked about seeing monsters. We chose the ones we liked and trained them.
So, why you can't see them doesn't make much sense. Some people are just born with the ability to see them. Other people have to go through a traumatic experience before seeing the zombies. For me, it was a traumatic experience." He looked into the distance and hesitated. "I saw both my grandma and my grandpa killed by zombies right in front of me. Later. They became zombies and........and I had to get rid of them for good.
Anyways, the last question. This answers will seem a bot crazy, too. Zombies are not human bodies as you would expect. They are the spirits of people who have been bitten by zombies. Everyone has a spirit in their body. Slayers have the ability to push that spirit out of their bodies to fight the zombies.
Now, I know that you probably have even more questions now, but I think that's enough information for now. But, I have a question." He stands up suddenly and walks to me. He leans down next to me, and cages me in his arms. "Are you sure you're okay with this whole zombie thing?" I nod my head, and he leans down closer. He lingers for a little bit, and suddenly mashes his lips against mine.
It's just like our first kiss was. Realitly started to fade away, all that was there was Yuuri, and his soft, warm lips pressed against mine. His mouth tasted a like it did last time, like wintergreen. The heat from his body encased me, and I felt safe in Yuuri's arms, like nothing could ever harm me with him around.
Suddenly, Yuuri disappears. I open my eyes, and I see a member of his crew standing in the door frame, trying to hold in his laughter. Yuuri is stand in in front of me, blocking my completely red face from the man's view. Is he.....trying to protect me?
"Phichit, get. Out. Now." I hear Yuuri say as he bares his teeth once more. Phichit walks away, laughter pouring from his mouth. Yuuri comes over and pulls me off of the sofa. "Sorry, you'll have to get used to them. They may not seem like good people but they really are. Now, let's go start your training."
Wow, another boring chapter. That seems to be my specialty. Anyways, hopefully I'll not procrastinate during the summer and actually update this sometimes. Bye fam. Stay sad, but not too sad!
