Hello hello my frens, I am back with another chapter! If the zombie fighting is confusing to you, don't worry. It will be for a little.
Yuuri's POV
I close the door, leaving a red-faced, stuttering Viktor standing in my house. I walk to my car, open the door, and get in. Ugh, I've got a long night of zombie fighting ahead of me. I start my car, pull out of my driveway, and begin the 15 minute drive to the slayer base.
I arrive, and enter the giant building. Inside, I see some of my friends arming up for battle. As slayers, we usually take shifts, so that we all have some, time to rest and heal up. I have been coming every night because I'm the leader, and I like to make sure my friends are safe. Plus, I haven't gotten too badly injured, so I'm still in good enough shape to fight.
"Alright, everybody gather around. I know, we are all worn out from having to send out groups every night, but we need to stay strong. We still need to use all of our strength, all of our best efforts. Just.......please be careful."
They all nod their heads and resume arming up. (This is where it starts to get really confusing. Just read it and I can explain later) I lean on the wall and watch them, since I'm already all armed. I take a deep breath, close my eyes, and push my spirit out of my body. I shiver, the air suddenly becoming a lot colder. I open my eyes, and all around me I see the rest of my crew doing the same thing.
We all nod at each other, open the door, and run out. We all run alongside each other, willing ourselves to go faster and faster. We run at inhumanly possible speeds, trying to get to the cemetery. We arrive, and come to a full stop. Just in time, I see.
Zombies are everywhere, some coming towards us, some still in the ground, but in the process of coming out. I almost gag and recoil back in disgust from the strong scent of rot filling my nose, my heightened senses making it worse than normal. I pull out my knives and look to my friends, nodding at them. We pull our goggle down over our faces just as the bright lights turn on, causimg the zombies to stumble back. But, instead,of running away like they usually do, they press forward, eager to get to us. Simultaneously, we all run forward to begin the fight.
Already, zombies reach out and try to grab onto me, wanting to sink their teeth into my flesh. I start fluidly moving, slashing high and low on the zombies body. I hear a zombie sneaking up on me, so I kick my foot back to knock it down. I disable as many zombie as I can, and look to my friends.
Everybody looks pretty beat up, but we're all alive and that's what counts. Thank goodness nobody was bitten. I snap back to reality, and see my friends ashing the zombies. I take a deep breath, and summon slayer fire, also known as dynamis. I walk up to a disabled zombie, and press my hand to its chest. One minute passes, two. Then the zombie bursts into ash.
We walk around, doing it to all of the other zombies. After they are all ashed, we head back to the base. I walk up to my body leaning against the wall, and I brush my spirit fingers against my regular fingers, and the two parts of me become one again.
The rest of the group sat down in chairs, rolling their shoulders or massaging sore muscles. I went around to check if anyone had serious injuries or not. All of the injuries were fairly mild, so I got in my car and went home.
When I got home, Viktor was asleep on the couch. As soon as I closed the door, Viktor sat up and looked at me. He ran to me and tackled me in a hug, causing his face to go red.
"Thank goodness you're okay. I thought maybe, something happened to you, and that's why you we're late." He buried his face into the crook of my neck. I snorted and rubbed my hands on his back.
"Please, as if I could be killed that easily. I've been doing this since I was about 15, so I know how to not get killed." He pulls away, his eyes widening at my words.
"Since you were 15?! How did you manage the stress of school along with this!?" His eyes softened as he looked at me. "No wonder you seem so grown up, at least more grown up than me." I nodded.
"I didn't have the luxury of an easy childhood. When I was fifteen, I had to start fighting zombies. It's hard to stay childlike when you have seen countless best friends of your killed, or turned into zombies." I bares my teeth in a snarl. "That's why I need to do this. I can't let the zombies go unpunished. I can't let Anima Industries go unpunished."
"Anima Industries? What's that?" Viktor asked. I looked at him and started to explain.
"Anima Industries is kind of like our rival. While we try to,get rid of zombies, they experiment with the zombie toxins. They experiment on test subject,,and try to see what makes zombies immortal. They only end up turning them into zombies, though." I say, with a bitter voice.
He pulls me back into a hug to comfort me. He pulls away, grabs my hand, and leads me over,to the couch. We lay down, and snuggle up against each other. I kiss his forehead and hug him closer. I'm so lucky to have him..... I think as I drift off to sleep.
