James's POV: Outside Time

*James’s POV*

               Alexa sat on Carlos’s lap and we all started to ask her questions about their hush relationship. I thought they were perfect together; there was just something about the two of them. The doorbell rang, yet again, but this time I decided to get up and answer it. I didn’t want Kendall to be taken away from the conversation, he was doing so well.

               Kevin and Kenneth were on the other side of the door. I stepped aside to let them him after giving them a warm, “Hey guys! Come on in!” I sounded like an idiot just now…

               I went to sit back down. When I got the kitchen Kendall was hugging his brothers. The room was so happy and filled with joy. It was so different from what we usually feel now. It’s almost as if it’s going to be taken all away from us.

               “So do you have anything to drink?” Kevin asked.

               “Beer, beer, beer, Almond Milk, beer,” I said looking through our fridge contents.

               “Beer,” Kevin said.

               “Kay,” I said as I grabbed a case and set it on the table for everyone to take one. We all had a drink in our possession now, and we laughed and joked as we got drunk. I looked at the time and realized that it was getting late and Sydney and Fox hadn’t been fed yet.

               I got up from the table and tapped on Carlos’s shoulder to get his attention, “The dogs need to be fed and taken out. Come with me,” I told him. Carlos stood up and followed me into the living room where Fox and Sydney were laying on the couch. “Fox, Syd! Let’s go outside!” I said in a baby voice to the dogs.

               “Come on guys! Let’s go!” Los said as he made his way to the back door. The dogs’ ears perked up and they both jumped of the couch and followed Carlos outside. I was close behind them. We stood outside in the back yard looking up at the stars in the clear L.A. sky-well the little amount of stars that you could see that is; mostly our stars were skyscrapers and neon signs.
