*Carlos’s POV*
“Well,” I said awkwardly to the guys who were staring awkwardly at me and each other.
“Well Mr. Pena you’ll have to come down to the station to be questioned, all three of you,” a cop said to me.
“I have two questions,” I told him.
“Alright,” he said.
“Can we take our own car? And can we say goodbye to our daughter first?” I asked him.
“Yes to both. Go back inside. I’ll be waiting out here to escort you.”
With his permission the guys and I went inside the center again. We made our way back to Addie’s room where we had left her in a confused and worried state. “Oh my god what’s going on?” Addie said jumping to her feet when we walked into her room. “Where’s James?”
“James…” Kendall began.
“Well…” I tried to say.
“He kinda got-” Logan began.
“Arrested,” we all chorused.
“What?” She asked completely shocked. “What did he do?”
I looked over at Kendall and Logan who looked at each other then back at me. We were all silently debating on whether or not we should tell Adele about her father being here. In the end all three of us nodded to one another. “I shouldn’t tell her,” I told the other two. “We aren’t as close and it might be better coming from one of you.”
“Logan,” Kendall said. “We’ll give you two some privacy for a moment.
Kendall and I walked out of the room leaving Logan with the dreadful task of telling our baby girl that that horrible monster tried to get in to see her. We thought it be best and only right for Logan to tell her because she legally belongs to him.
Even though legal stuff isn’t a priority in our lives and we all love her equally and try to spend time with her equally, she should really know that Logan is her father. And Logan, should be the one to step up and be her father in times where an actual parent and not just an adoptive one is needed.
Kendall and I walked down the hall a little ways so that we could talk and let them talk as well. I slid down the wall and sat on the floor, Kendall joining me at my side. “I wonder what his bail will be,” I commented with a smirk.
“It better be worth paying…” Kendall said. “You know I really wish that he would’ve killed the man.”
I looked at him puzzled, “That’s so not like you,” I noted.
“I know.”
“Well what’s on your mind?” I said, “You seem sort of out of it right now. Well lately in general you’ve seemed out of it.”
“A lot of things my friend, a lot of things.”
“Well like what bro? You can talk to me you know.”
“I know,” Kendall sighed.
“Well then?” I tried again.
“Well having Addie taken away from us by a woman who’s not even part of the family has been digging under my skin for a while,” he commented. That was a given. “My random emotions and new found blood lust for the bastard who hurt our baby,” also a given, but completely understand and, well, newer than the last problem. “Also, I sort have started to develop feelings for someone I shouldn’t be in love with, because I know that it wouldn’t work.”
“Oh would the two of you just come out and admit it?” I commented.
“What?” he asked me.
“You and Logan,” I told him.
“It’s that obvious?”
“James and I have a bet on what we think is going to happen. I said eventually an open relationship. James says friends with benefits behind our backs. But I’m winning,” I told him with a grin.
“You two are horrible,” he said, but found it hard to contain laughter.
“I know we are.”
