"Kyler! for the last time stop talking and pay attention" Ms. Harrison glared at me for the sixth time this lesson," Otherwise I will have to move you again, do you want that?" She raised a blonde eyebrow at me and crossed her arms across her chest.

"Sorry ma'am" I mumbled and stared down at the worksheet before me, we were doing some weird poem called Neutral tones which I paid no attention to.

"So what does the poem speak about, Kyler?" She looked at me waiting for an answer. I tried hard to think about what the class was discussing 10 minutes ago.

"Ummm, Neutral colors that relate to certain emotions?" I looked up hopefully at her.

She sighed at me and rolled her eyes," Yes, Tayla?" She smiled at the smartest girl in our class with pride.

"The poem tells us about a relationship that has gone downhill and the once wonderful things about the relationship have dried up and become dead."

"Gee, bro" Sean looked at her," That's deep" he replied in deep thought.

Sean is the pure badass of the grade, no one can mess with him not even the teachers. If he wants to eat in class, he'll eat in class; if he wants to play flappy bird during a maths test, no problem there. And the amazing about him is when you sit around him he becomes like force shield. If you're on your phone when you're not supposed to, the teacher won't notice, simply because Sean is right next to you.

That guy is the shit.

"Thank you for that unnecessary comment Sean" She sighed and carried on talking about the poem.

"Anyway" I turned around as soon as her back was facing the class," Asking Alexandria is coming in May, we need to save up and get those tickets fast" I said in a determined voice. I would do anything to go to their concert, its not everyday that international acts decide to do performances in South Africa.

"Dude, it's only February calm down" Rita laughed  and copied down whatever was written on the board. I didn't bother doing it though, I knew Rita would always be there for me to copy from her; she's the best.

"But those tickets are going to go fast" I whined and pulled down on one of her curls only to watch it spring back up again. People always tell her how lucky she is that she's black and goes to a white school because they cant really complain about her hair, she changes it at least every two months. She's basically become an icon the school just because of the different hairstyles she rocked over the years. from Boyish hair cuts to long thin braids, she's really done it all.

"Maybe" She shrugged and paid more attention to the board in front of her,"The bell's about to ring" She murmured and began slowly packing her bag as she chewed louder on her bubblegum, her newly done red braids falling over her face exposing an ear with multiple piercings ranging from the cartilage to the lobe.

"five, four, three, two..." She began and smiled when the bell rang as soon as she counted one. Before Ms. Harrison could say anything the whole class had disappeared out of the classroom.

I walked out the classroom to be greeted by loud conversations and the smell of recent rain and occasional hits in the face from umbrellas. It had been raining all week and everyone was getting sick of it, but I started enjoying the weather more and more as the days went past.

I made my way to my locker and got out a few of my books for the homework I wouldn't be doing this weekend, because come on it's the weekend. Duh.

Ten high fives, six hugs and five Call of Duty conversations later I finally made it to the school gate where I had to wait for my dad to fetch me, he usually fetched me  an hour later than everybody else just because he can. So I normally walk to the McDonalds up the road from our school to entertain my appetite and walk back.
