Bitches On The Rebound

I'd woken up the next morning feeling stronger, like I'd regained reason.

I sat up to notice Cassie wasn't there. I was still lying on her bed, right where I'd fallen asleep. I ran my fingers through my hair a few times, shook it around a bit, and done. That's all it ever took me, my stright hair would just fall by itself, and my bangs of hair neatly covered my right eye.

I grabbed my phone from my pocket, to see I'd recieved two texts:

Cass, 8:13am, today:

Heyy. I'm sending you a txt cuz I know how you are with notes laying 'round the joint, lol. I'm off to school, I've left my door padlocked so 'She' *winkwink* can't get into my room. That also means you can't get out through the door, srry! But hey, you jump out your own window, so you shouldn't have a problem, right? ;)

I smiled, and gave a chuckle. Then read the second text...

Mom, 2:47am, today:

Oi, where are ya? You never told me you went out, and you ain't back yet! How am I supposed to-

I couldn't be bothered reading the rest of it.

I chucked on my grey camo pants, and the black tank top with the hood I bought yesterday. They were pretty chill. I grabbed my bag, and headed to the window. I unlocked it, and raised the glass. I got out alright, and sat on the roof.

After a moment, I walked around the overhang to the front of the house. I checked no-one was in sight, dropped my bag down, and jumped. It didn't hurt. I've done it many times before, and have learnt which ways to jump, and which ways not to.

I picked up my bag and casually walked home. When I arrived, I opened the door, and slammed it shut because I assumed by parent's had gone to work. I got myself ready to go out, and left with only my keys, a $50 note, a few dollars change, my mobile, and something I always carry on me.

I locked the house when I left, and just walked around a while. I thought about the boy who had followed me and Cassie last night. The fact that he'd followed us was strange enough.

At about 10:30am, I arrived at the college. I'm not here often, and the teacher's seem to receive a nasty shock when I actually show up. It's almost a joke.

I walked into the class I knew I'd find Cassie in. "How'd you know I was in here?" she asked when I sat down next to her. "The timetable on your desk left me guessing..." I joked. She gave a short laugh, and I quietened down so she could get her work done.

The only reason I'd came to school was because I was unsure of the boy. I was asking myself alot of questions. I was concerned for Cassie's safety, so I stayed near her all day, but that wasn't a problem; she wanted to hang around with me anyway.

After classes had finished for the day, her 'friends' had a go at me again, like they always do. "Oi Cassie, why do you bother hanging with this outcast?" The tall blonde with long hair yelled as she confronted us. "What's it to you?" Cassie threw back at her.

A friend of the blonde comes up from behind her. "How dare you speak to Ebony like that! Little brat!" "Hey, wattaya know, your dog 'Fluffy' got her muzzle off again." I said sarcastically. Cassie tried so hard not to laugh at how relaxed I was, hands in my pockets and not being bothered to even make eye contact with Ebony.

When I finally did look over to her 'dog' she had her fists clenched and a snarl on her face. I sent her one in return, and moved from next to Cassie to infront of her. "You got a big mouth, don't ya." Ebony asked rhetorically. "I don't give a fuck. You cowards don't treat her like this when I ain't around. Then I arrive, y'all shit yourselves and try to act like ya run the joint."

Ebony took a step forward, with her 'dog' and another friend standing beside her. I felt Cassie take a small step back. I stomped my foot forward as if to start running toward them, and they flinched backwards. "Like I said: cowards." I finished before turning to my friend. "C'mon Cass. I don't know why they bother." I said as I walked off, without giving a second look back at the girls.

"Uh, Kassidy... We should go a bit quicker than we are." she tried to tell me. "Why?" I asked, hands still in my pockets. "They're following us." she studdered. I stopped walking, with my feet apart. Cassie stopped infront of me after noticing I'd stopped. "Kassidy!..." she whined as she tried to pull me along.

"No one can just walk away from Ebony like that!" I heard her 'dog' yell, sounding like she was approaching at a running pace. Cassie took a few quick steps back. "Kassidy!" she squealed. I turned around when Ebony's 'dog' was a few metres away.

As she ran, she held her arms open, like she was going to tackle me. I noticed what she was doing as she grabbed me around my stomach, and collected me as she dived. We fell onto the ground, and she kneeled over my gut. "Kassidy!" Cassie squealed again.

Ebony's 'dog' who I had nicknamed 'Fluffy' had her knee's digging into my shoulders, and was trying to choke me around the neck. I simply just kicked her in the back while tossing her over with my legs, and we swapped positions. I had one hand squeezing down on her throat.

I could see her face going red as she gasped and choked for air, while she held my wrists trying to force my hands away from her pulsing neck. 

"Ever heard that song Sink or Swim, by Falling In Reverse?" I asked rhetorically, still pressing down on her throat. I gave an evil little grin, and slowly whispered her the lyrics.

When I'd finished, I noticed her eyes were beginning to roll into the back of her head. She was still trying to force my hands away from her throat, but she wasn't succeeding. "Kassidy!" Cassie screamed. I let go, and stood up at the same time. "Now piss off. You try anything smart again, and I will strangle you." I threatened.

I walked over to Cassie, and put my arm around her. "So how about that going to the shops again this arvo?" I asked rhetorically, knowing she'd be happy with it. "Just gotta drop my bag of at home and we'll go!" Cassie said excitedly as we left the scene.

Heyy! This chapter's kinda longer, and I hope this ain't getting boring at this rate, but in the next chapter something happens to one of the girls! Will upload next chapter soon! x
