I stood up quickly, and bolted with my pup just in front of me to my side. I tried to carry Cassie in my arms as swiftly as I could. My shoes made almost no noise against the floor, and even Milo was quiet as she ran along in front of me to my left. After a minute of running, I could hear the guard's angry voice screaming through the empty building.
We were on the opposite side of the large building, but I was still sure that any really loud noise was going to be heard where the guard was, and where-ever he was, he would sprint towards the noise we were to make.
I ran into the electronics shop and leaned Cassie against the shelves. I grabbed a heavy rectangular box and gave it a shake. Perfect! I picked Cassie up again and hung her over my shoulder.
"Bloody cut!" I yelled at myself behind tightly clenched jaws when another painful throb split through my arm. I looked back to where I had came to realize a small trail of blood on the floor. It wasn't very clear, but it would lead the guard right to me if he looked hard enough.
I carried Cassie over my shoulder and the box under my other. Milo jogged infront of me to my left, and we headed for the glass doors not far from where we were. I put Cassie down away from the glass, and made sure Milo would stay before I hurried over to the glass door.
I held the box in my arms, and held it tightly. If this didn't break the glass first shot, I would lose the chance of escape that I need. I put all my remaining strength into throwing the box at the centre of the panel; the weakest point. It broke through, and sent an echo of chimes around me. Glass hit the floor quicker than I ever thought possible, and the moon beamed its light onto the shattered glass that lay upon the floor.
I didn't have the time to enjoy my rebellious actions. I brought Cassie into my arms again, and she lay against my cold, shivering body with her blood. Milo stood up from where she laid next to Cassie as soon as I picked her up, and led me out the makeshift exit.
We walked for an hour. The bus doesn't work this time of night, and there was no other option. I took a mothers' daughter to her, and was welcomed with horrified expressions, threats and a grieving family.
I weakly knocked on the door of Cassie's house, and rushed to rest her body on both arms, instead of just the one. It was still dark outside, and I could only imagine how angry she'd be about me bringing my dear best friend, for whom I was responsible for, home so late.
I knocked after a minute of waiting. Again, I rushed to get my arm under her body, but I fell to my knees with her in my arms. Stand up! I was screaming inside of me. Although I couldn't find the strength, I stood up as her mother opened the door.
She barely opened it, and she leaned her face between the small gap. Her eyes rushed down to the figure that laid in my arms. Her mouth dropped, and her hand slapped her mouth. "How..." she started. "I didn't..." "How could you?!" she screamed, cutting me off. She opened the door wider and took a small stride out onto the small step before her door.
"Oh my god..." "I'm sorry, I tried..." "Murderer!" she screamed, cutting me off once again. "No. It's not what it..." "Killer! Get away, you cruel bitch! Demon!" "It's not..." I tried to talk to her, but she'd ran inside to sob. Cassie's father, who hates everything about me, came rushing to the door and quickly swung it open to look at us.
"You...!" His face getting angry. "You wait 'till I get the law here! You blackblooded monster!" he yelled as he went to get the phone. "But I..." "Murderous beast! You betray our family like this?!" I could hear the mother screaming from inside the house.
I wouldn't bother explaining. Again I'd tried, but I couldn't do enough. I turned around with Cassie still in my arms, and I hurried away from the house. Milo followed me, although she again was infront, and I headed for the one place I never expected to go with my best friend.
Heyy! Short chap, but there wasn't much more I could put without giving too much away. Hope you enjoyed! Until next upload: Be you, and stay true! <3
