Chapter 36: Needing to know more

Prower's POV

It was the next day and after reading all night and finding only little scraps of info on the red flare gate, Atlas and I decided to talk to Getsu and Tetley about this.

"So what you are saying is the place we are going is quite a mystery." Getsu stated and I slightly facepawed.

"No, what I am saying is that the information is being covered up." I told Getsu.

Getsu looked back at me and then Tetley let out a sigh. "Well if we cannot get info from the books then why dont we go to others and just ask about it?" Tetley asked and his point did make sense.

Atlas nodded though I could tell he would have regrets about this and I also don't like the idea of talking to strangers all that much. "Okay so whom do we choose to ask?" Atlas asked.

Getsu smirked. "I will ask Capricorn and maybe he won't mind a battle either."

I sighed at Getsu's comment. "I will probably talk to zigzagoon. He seems to have quite a lot of knowledge." I told them.

Tetley thought about it. "I will talk to an informant at the tavern that I know." Tetley told us and well I know now that Tetley has some connections.

Atlas sighed. "I don't really feel up to this so while you all are doing that why don't I stick here and cook?" Atlas asked and I gave him a nod.

"Fine idea Atlas and besides that we will need food after all this anyway." I told Atlas and then we left our team room and went our seperate ways.

Tetley's POV

I walked to the tavern where my informant usually would be drinking her fill. "Hit me with another one!" A lurantis called out.

I walked up behind her and chuckled. "Well now someone deciding to get drunk again?" I asked with a slight chuckle.

The lurantis turned around on her seat and sighed. "Yeah well morning is the best time for a drink." She said to me and her breath smelled quite bad.

I jumped onto a seat next to her and then ordered myself a leafeon special tonic. "So I am guessing you are here for info Tetley?" The lurantis asked.

"But of course I am, Salva." I said to Salva and she nodded. "Go on." Salva told me and I followed her instruction. "Okay well I need info on the red flare gate." I told Salva and she paled a little.

"That place is a sacred place, Tetley, why do you need info on it?" Salva asked me. "Well it is because of an expedition that the guild is doing and the team I am apart of is wanting to find information about the place and its mysteries or at least to figure out what it is." I told Salva and then our drinks arrived and so I started to drink mine.

"Tetley that place is guarded by a scary entai. If you value your life I really think you shouldn't go there." Salva told me and then she left.

I blinked and thought on the words she had said. "A scary entai... what would entai be guarding?" I asked myself.

Getsu's POV

I went to Capricorn and he smirked. "Ah newbie, good to see you, what can I do for ya?" Capricorn asked while his teammates were looking at the notice board.

"Well I was curious as to what you know about this place we are going to for the expedition." I told Capricorn and he chuckled.

"The red flare gate is quite the place but we should discuss it in my team room." Capricorn told me and then dragged me to his team room.

Team shadowside, Capricorn's team, had quite the nice looking space. "Take a seat Getsu." Capricorn told me as he sat on his sofa. I went and sat down next to Capricorn and he smiled.

"Okay so red flare gate was once an actual gate however due to the town inside being home to some unsavory characters, the kingdom decided that the residence of it should be forcefully removed from the place." Capricorn explained to me and I nodded as I listened.

"But lets just say red flare gate and its insides still remain and are still like a nest for the unsavory." Capricorn explained. "But the reason for us going there is probably more to discover what secrets have been left inside." Capricorn finished his explanation and I grinned.

"A real adventure after all! Man I am pumped!" I cheered and Capricorn chuckled.

"Don't get full of yourself newbie... this stuff isn't easy and the challenge is still there." Capricorn brought me back down to reality but he was right. "Yeah I know but this is exciting." I told Capricorn and he nodded.

"Yeah it is but Getsu remember what I told you." Capricorn stated and I nodded.

Capricorn is so cool but maybe I can be as cool as him too.

Prower's POV

I went to Zigzagoon and saw him rousing at a few guildmembers. "AND DON'T DO IT AGAIN!" Zigzagoon yelled at the two vigoroth.

I was scared but I went up to Zigzagoon anyway. "Um zigzagoon sir?" I said in a quiet tone.

Zigzagoon looked at me and it was clear his anger didnt pass all that much. "Yes Prower?" Zigzagoon asked me.

"Um sir I was wanting to know if I could take a look at your personal library. I wanna study up and the library here in the guild doesn't have the stuff I'm looking for." I told zigzagoon and his eyes flashed like he had seen his favourite treat.

"Finally someone is taking the initiative of researching and reading! Prower let me show you my personal study stash!" Zigzagoon said very cheerily and ran, in a zigzag pattern, towards the elevator.

I followed Zigzagoon and smiled quite a bit. "I am glad to know that I am allowed to see this stuff." I told zigzagoon and he chuckled.

"Well of course. All scholars should share in the knowledge but out of curiosity what topic are you looking at?" Zigzagoon asked me.

"I want to find information on the red flare gate and also what this ceremony that happens there is." I told zigzagoon and then he glanced at me.

"I see... well I think I have books on that but Prower, I really think that you won't like what you will read." Zigzagoon told me and this just made me more concerned.

The elevator eventually stopped and we had arrived on a floor with a few doors but it was also quite dimly lit, which threw my senses into overdrive.

"Follow." Zigzagoon simply said and I followed him towards a door on the left side of the hallway.

Zigzagoon jumped up and opened the door to reveal quite a nice looking room that, unlike the hallway, was quite well lit. "Welcome to my room. When I became a member of the guild many years ago this was considered the main floor for rooms." Zigzagoon told me and I was surprised to say the least.

"Heh shocked I see... well no matter I shall leave you to read while I get back to my duties." Zigzagoon told me and then left.

I got to reading. "Hopefully I find useful information." I told myself as I started to look for the right books.
