Mortals aren't very alert beings. So, the three half mortals made it out of the camp no sweat, except for that dog in the way.
Joseph rubbed his leg. "Chihuahuas sure know how to bite!" he complained.
"You shouldn't have taunted it." Mira said.
They were walking in the woods, going west, depending on Polaris, the North Star that Clara recognized.
"We will have to tend to it later. For now, let's just get far enough away to not let the humans find us." said Clara.
They kept walking through the woods, trees swaying in the wind like feathers. The sky's stars twinkled down on the demigods as they trudged along.

"We've been walking for hours!" said Mira.
"The mortals could still find us!"
"So? We could run!"
"Mira, what seems like the better option: sleeping, getting caught, then having to run forever from everyone, or walking a few extra hours in order to lay low?" Joseph shouted.
They all stood still and formed a circle now, glaring at each other. "We could just keep watch!" said Mira.
"How? Joseph can't go in the tree because he will burn it down in his sleep, so we can't hide!" Clara responded.
"Then let's sleep on the floor."
"There might be spiders on the floor, and Clara is with us." said Joseph.
"Ah!"
"Sorry, Mira, but Athena kids have arachnophobia."
"So, we are walking, Mira!" said Clara.
"I'm exhausted!"
"So?"
"Hey!" said a man.
Everyone hid in a bush.
A figure holding a flashlight came towards them. "You three want to come into my car? I'll take you to a hotel nearby."
They poked their heads up. "Bed? Sweet, let's go!" said Joseph running forward. Clara and Mira had to follow him.
The man was wearing a large overcoat and a fedora hat.
If you guys know the super hero Question, that's what he looks like except his outfit is brown. :)
He opened the door to his car and let them in. The trio climbed into the backseat, this time having no one comfortable enough to sit in the front with this odd figure.

"So, uh, sir, are we there yet?" Mira asked.
"Almost." he answered. His voice sounded muffled by something.
Clara threw a slip of paper at Mira and Joseph.
Imposter, it said.
"Wha-"
A big hand suddenly grabbed Joseph and slammed him against the roof of the car, breaking it. The man ran outside, his coat and hat coming off to reveal only one eye on his face.
"You were right, Clara." said Mira. She took out her spear and three it with all her might at the cyclops. The monster ducked, avoiding a hit in the eye.
"Mira, do that one more time, and when he ducks, I'll be there with my sword." Clara whispered.
Mira nodded, then rocketed over the beast using water from within her body.
Joseph lit fire to his hands and slammed them onto the cyclops.
"Ow." he mumbled, dropping him. Joseph just laid there.
Meanwhile, Mira had made it to her spear, picking it up. She turned around and flung it again!
The cyclops ducked down, but a celestial bronze sword went through his stomach.
"Darn." he said, then vanished.
Clara ran to Joseph then set his head in her lap. "His back! It's cut all over! Bones might be broken." she wailed.
Mira came over, just as concerned. "Did we bring ambrosia? Nectar?" she asked.
"Since we snuck out, Chiron didn't prepare us." Clara responded.
They fished around in their backpacks, hoping some fell in. Joseph lost conscious after two minutes.
"Now, what are we going to do?" Mira asked.
Poor Joseph. :( Let's hope Clara and Mira figure something out.
