The wind howled as Hermes flew through the air, not disturbing the clouds or birds in the sky.
"Why is nothing reacting?" Mira asked.
"I think time stopped." said Clara.
"It's frozen!" said Mira.
"Er, now is not the time for Pixar references. We have arrived." Hermes added as he stepped down in front of the Big House in Camp Half Blood. Except...no shouts were echoing around, no clashes of swords or laughter all around.
Mira looked around. "Everything is still."
Clara joined her. "Oh gods.." she mumbled.
Demigods were everywhere, not moving, not talking, not breathing.
Joseph stepped down and poked one. She fell over.
"Joseph!" Clara scolded.
"What? It's Betty. She's not exactly the sweetest girl around."
"Good point." said Mira, coming over. She lifted Betty with water and put her in a lake.
Clara just started laughing while Hermes slapped his forehead. "Chiron. Go find him." he ordered.
The unfrozen half bloods stopped playing around and went inside the big house. Chiron was sitting in his wheelchair reading a book.
Clara sighed. "At least he is safe." she said.
Joseph went outside to talk to Hermes. "What do we do now?" he asked.
"Ask Clara. I'm just your mailman." he replied. Hermes started up his sandals again. "Kronos is probably going to attack the gods when they are like this. I suggest going there?" Hermes zipped away again.
Clara and Mira came outside. "OK, I've got a small plan to get back to Olympus. We-did Hermes leave?" said Clara.
"Yes..." Mira mumbled.
"Well, never mind then! We need a new plan!"
"You got that right." said Joseph.
Clara grumbled in frustration, then she sat down again.
Mira started going toward the lake to think.
Joseph sat with Clara. "OK, how about going back to Olympus?"
"Negative. We went there already and the gods were already gone. This wasn't to throw them off guard so Kronos could kidnap them with an army, it was to stop us demigods."
"Tartarus?"
"Too predictable. Plus, there is no way we are going down there."
"What if he built a fort?"
"Yes, that's what I think, but where could it be?"
"In his room, of course, that's where people make forts!"
Clara rolled her eyes and put her head in her hands.
"OK, sorry!" Joseph wailed.
Clara stood up. "I need quiet to think!" she huffed before walking off.
Mira stopped her as she jogged over to the pair. "Hermes came back a minute ago." she explained. A little note was in her hand. "It's from Hermes himself."
A soul has been summoned from Hades' realm and hasn't been given back. Maybe this helps you? It is Dae-
"Daedalus!" Clara exclaimed.
"How do you know?" asked Joseph.
"He's going to build Kronos' fort. I bet it's the Labyrinth again, upgraded with a fort."
Mira nodded. "And we can get there by..."
"It has to be built under the entire country, and there's no time to make new doorways, so the entrance in this camp should still be usable!"
Joseph stood up. "Sorry to spoil the discovery, but harpies are outside and they don't belong to our camp!"
