They hid behind a little rock, crouching in the dark. "Ok, so what are we going to do now?" Clara asked.
"Definitely be careful. Rhea's choice shouldn't be in vain." Mira said.
Joseph sat down with them, and he fished the amulet out of his pocket. "I found this." he said. The girls looked over at it. "I think it might have some special power or something." he finished.
"Huh. That's an odd little crystal." Clara said, tilting her head to examine it.
Mira touched it lightly with her fingertip. "It's full of water. I can tell." she said.
Clara started to put some mars on the floor from her backpack. "We should sleep, but this time, the person who's keeping watch better stay close." she said.
"Ok, I'm sorry! I felt like looking around for a bit." Joseph explained.
Mira started to walk up to him. "Maybe if you had stayed close-" she started to say, but Joseph fell backward into some moonlight. The amulet fell out of his hand and began to float in the air, and an image appeared out of it.
"I knew you would figure out how to use this eventually." said Rhea. Her face had appeared in the image. She seemed to be in a bedroom, locked in. "This amulet lets you Iris message the person with the identical crystal. I'll guide you to the Olympians like this." she explains.
Mira and Clara joined Joseph standing before the message.
"Good, you're all safe. Now-"
A noise was heard from the background. "Rhea!"
"Just go up top to the moonlight. You'll end up in Yosemite, so hide among the mortals!" Rhea whispered quickly. She waved the picture away just as the door to her room opened up.
Clara stared at the moon. It was at least sixty feet up. "How are we supposed to get up there?" she wondered aloud.
Joseph started to feel around the cave, looking for footholds. "There's nothing that gets us high enough." he called.
Mira lifted her arms to summon water. "We are not near a lake," she muttered, annoyed.
"Joseph, why don't you use fire to shoot yourself up like a rocket?" Clara asked.
Joseph shrugged and said, "Why not?" He made his hands into fists and stamped down hard. He shot up into the air, towards the moon. Joseph grabbed the ledge, then he looked down. "I'm good!"
"Find rope or something!" Mira shouted.
Joseph looked around. The only thing that could be rope was a vine stuck in a nearby tree, but that wouldn't hold any weight.
The amulet shook again. Rhea appeared. "Good, you're out." she said. This time, Joseph saw a darker and less comfortable stone room behind her. "There's rope in the oak tree with a star on its trunk." she whispered.
Joseph nodded, then went to fetch the rope. He threw it down to Clara and Mira, and they climbed up.
Clara looked around. "What should we do now?"
"Rhea keeps giving instructions. I think we should wait for her to come back." said Mira.
The group climbed a tree and sat down. It was time to wait.
