Peridot X Reader

Escaping

"Um... Ok..." I said nervously. Was she going to take me to the diamonds personally!

"Just around here and..." She seemed very focused on something. It clearly wasn't me, for once. It may seem crazy, but I think she was focusing on where she was going so the Jasper earlier didn't see her, but... No! That is crazy that could get us both shattered! A gem as intelligent as a peridot should be fully aware of this!

We finally stopped at what looked like the control room. She pressed some buttons and some other mechanisms as I stood there quietly.

Suddenly a good sized escape pod popped out of the floor of the ship. She was actually helping me escape! When she said that I didn't think she was serious! 

I thought about this for a little longer. She was sacrificing everything... for me. I found myself blushing vigorously.

She eventually noticed this, and gave a reassuring, but still a little nervous, smile followed by an awkward thumbs up. I laughed at this, which in return made both of us feel better.

I then looked at the escape pod again. It wasn't big, but it sure wasn't small either. Most pods are made to fit only one gem, maybe two if they are a very small gem, such as an aquamarine.  I pondered this for a while before speaking up. "Peridot, why is the escape pod bigger than usual?"

"U-Umm" She was literally redder than an angry ruby at this point. It was clear she was trying to talk, but was too flustered to actually say anything. It was absolutely adorable.

"Wait a minute... You want to come with me! Don't you!" I said confidently.

"U..Uh...Uhh" I literally didn't think she could get more flustered. She literally froze.

"Um... Peridot? Are you ok?" This, to me, didn't mean much, but for her it obviously meant the world. She looked overwhelmed with joy, but quickly regained her focus.

"I have to come with you to escort you throughout the planet and help you survive. There is not much time left. We will have to leave soon." Peridot stated, motioning me toward the pod.

"Ok, I guess we are doing this! By the way, do you even know your way around the planet?" I asked as I stepped into the pod

Peridot watched me get in an said nothing in response, which I assumed meant no.

"PERIDOT! STOP STALLING AND LETS GET A MOVE ON ALREADY! THE DIAMONDS ARE WAITING!" A loud, raspy voice yelled.

The green gem gasped in surprise and whispered "Jasper". She quickly hopped into the escape pod, and closed the door. She rapidly pressed some buttons.

We set off into space leaving everything behind. The only thing we had now, was each other. I watched the stars whip by as we flew by extremely fast.

It would be a few minutes before we got to Earth, which left us to talk...
