Peridot X Reader

Coming Back

I tried to scream for help, but my voice only echoed into unintelligible shrieks and noises. Against my own will, I began to thrust myself upon my friends unable to stop. My mind was a claustrophobic prison, and I was trapped within in it.

Strangely enough, I was attacking everyone but Peridot, as if I was protecting her. The cataclysm continued for a while until I felt something. Something warm and comforting. I soon recognized it to be Peridot. Instinctively, I tried to hug her, as I could feel her hot tears drizzle on to my monstrous skin.

It went horribly wrong.

I ended up hurting her so badly that she was just barely conscious enough to stand up. Because of this, my corrupted form grew more beastly and dangerous. I had made the situation worse, just like I do with everything! Everyone would be better without me! I force myself to run away form the situation.

I turn my head back for but a second and notice the lime green gemstone on the ground. This only made me more corrupted. "I'm a monster!" I scream in my mind. Before I wanted help, but now I know, there is no helping me anymore. I'm a danger to myself and others. Everyone would be safer if I went I away. If I died. My thoughts become more and more ravenous as I fell down into the ever deepening hole of my despair. I  use what little control I have to attempt to thrust my gem on a sharp rock to save all my friends from myself. To save Peridot.

Moments away from committing this act, I feel a soft and tender touch. "You... You've been so nice to me and I know you're going through something, and I just want to let you know, I'm here for you!" I hear other voices screaming at her to get away, but she insists on staying and refuses to leave.

She... She still loves me. Even after all I've done, she still loves me.

Tears begin to fall out of the eyes of my monstrous form, shining like crystals gleaming in the dark of night. The world begins to disappear as my form combusts and I retreat into my gem. The stone falls into my love's hands, and I am finally at peace.

I wake up slowly as my form regenerates and I see a green figure standing before in a room with water, a reflective surface, as well as other strange human technology. I step out of the multicolored liquid, my body dripping water onto the floor. Peridot tackles me, knocking me off my feet and I begin to cry once again.

""I'm... I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to-"

She puts her fingers against my lips and shushes me. "It's ok... I'm just glad to have you back. I begin to laugh, and she joins in. There we were, after all that just happened, on the floor laughing together. After the sad, but comforting laughter, our lips touched each others. Our gems begin to glow and we became f/n (fusion name) once again.
