Lost and Then Found

We stepped out of the cave only to find out where we really were. We were on some sort of island.

We looked out, and admired the spectacular view, It was incredible. We watched the sun come up slowly, and slowly pull itself out of the horizon. We also saw some flying organisms make weird sounds, yet beautiful sounds.

We soon started walking in some direction, and we really didn't find much. We walked for about 15 minutes and hit that same substance that was coming out of the atmosphere earlier, so we decided to walk inn a different direction.

We finally ran into a big, crystal, circular object. This surprised both of us greatly.

"Its... Its a warp pad! Yes! We can finally get somewhere!" She examined it for a couple of minutes and muttered, "Yes... Hmm..." She got up strait and looked at me with a big smile.

"Its not damaged at all! Meaning we can warp anywhere we want!" Peridot exclaimed with great enthusiasm.

"Uhh..." You started, "Are you sure this is a good idea?" You asked wearily

""Why wouldn't be a good idea! It will increase our chances of living longer and not dying!"

"W-Well, if you want to, I will wait right here for you to come back" you said as you sat down, hugging your knees

Peridot walked over to you and sat where you were sitting and said, "G/N, what's wrong?"

"It's nothing..." You muttered while you Looked the other way.

"G/N, you need to tell me what's bothering you! I didn't risk my life and throw away everything just so you can bottle things up and hide them from me."

I sighed and stared for a moment and decided to tell her, "You're right, It's just being a G/N I don't get to travel much, meaning I don't go on warp pads very often... So, I guess I am just scared of going on them..."

"G/N, is that all, don't worry, I be her-"

I cut her off. I was now looking at the ground from all the terrible memories that flashed through my head. I then continued, "Its not just that, It's the fact that when ever I did warp it was because of a extremely dire situation. You don't know what I have witnessed" I stood up, still facing the ground. "I have seen the gem war. Do you know what I saw during the war?!"

"No..." Peridot muttered.

"Thousands of gems... Shattered in the blink of an eye. A lot of crystal gems did not shatter anyone.. but some did..."

"G/N... It's ok! The war is over! Those rebels are gone!"

"Y-You're right..."

"I'm glad you told me... Just know, that I'm here for you. Never forget that" Peridot stated

"Y-yeah... I won't..." I replied softly. "Lets go" I stood up and offered my hand to help her up. She kindly accepted, and we walked the warp pad together.

Suddenly, a great beam of light shot out from it. There was a pearl, some sort of cross fusion, and a tiny amethyst, and... A human? This was unexpected.

We both stared at each other in complete shock. No one had expected this.

Their expressions quickly changed from shock to anger. I grabbed peridot's mechanical hand and ran.
