Apologies

I ran back to the cave that we had been in when we first arrived. I finally let her go and sat down. Peri then bent down and sat along side me.

"G/N... They aren't as bad as you think..." Peri said.

"How would you know..." I responded.

"Because if it wasn't  for them, you wouldn't be here right now, talking to me.... When, they talked to me... it seemed genuine. They seemed like they legitimately felt empathy for me."

"Are you sure? You aren't just saying that to make me feel better... are you..." I then lowered my head into my lap, where I started sobbing.

Peridot then took my chin and lifted my head up so I was looking at her. "G/N, would I lie to you?"

"....." I looked at her eyes for a moment. She desperately wanted an answer out of me. "N... No.... You would never, ever lie to me." I was sure of it. If she said they weren't bad, then I believed her.

She then stood up, and stretched her arm out towards me, and helped me get up. We hugged for a while and had a little conversation.

"I'm sorry." I started.

"For what?"

"For thinking you would ever lie to me."

"Heh... Apology accepted..."

We hugged for a couple minutes and we finally broke apart.

"Feel better?" She asked with a slight smile on her face.

"Yeah... Thanks" i said as I wiped away a tear and sniffed. "Come on. Let's go to those... crystal gems"

"Really!" She exclaimed.

"Yeah, to apologies for attacking them."

We walked out of the cave and went strait for their base. When we got there, they all seemed to be sitting on chairs, socializing with one another. I shuffled in and stated "Hey.."

The room immediately became silent. "I'm... Sorry... for attacking you. It was stupid and hypocritical of me to just assume you were bad gems.

The room only grew quieter and tense.

The fusion then turned her head and looked directly at me, and stated, "Apology accepted."

I sighed and whispered, "Thank you..."

The weird, fleshy thing then ran towards me and wrapped its arms around me and exclaimed, "Yay! New crystal Gem!"

"Wha- No! I came here to apologies, not join your little club!" I said as I pushed it off of me. Only Peridot is allowed to touch me.

"We may not hate each other anymore," I started, "but we will NEVER be friends." and with that, we left the area to head back to the cave.

As the soft sand crunched beneath our feat, Peri then tugged on my arm. "G/N, come on! Could you at least give them a chance."

I looked down at her pleading eyes. I thought about it for a moment. If anything happens, or someone even dares to touch my Peri, my gem isn't cracked anymore and I can completely obliterate them. "Hmm... Fine" I decided. "But that doesn't mean we will be friends.

"Good enough!"

We headed back to the base ad hoped they would say yes. Well, mostly Peridot. We stepped in once again and I looked them directly in the eyes.

"Umm... We want to know something..." I started, "Do you think we could stay with you guys for a little bit?" I asked, blushing because this was not something I wanted to be doing. I had no idea how they would respond to this. Would they shatter me? Keep me? I couldn't have ever imagined what they would say in response.
