A knock on the door woke me up, I stretched out.
-White? Wake up.
-Coming- I said struggling to get out of bed. I put the slippers on and walked lazily to the door.
-Yeah?
-Don't sleep too much, or the jetlag will get worse.
-But I'm tired, I didn't sleep while I was in the plane.
-You can sleep later, come with me to the market.
-Market?
-So you can get food for you and other things.
-Oh, yeah. Then I should shower first- I said rubbing my neck.
-There's the tub- he said pointing to one of the second white door.
-Thanks, I'll be quick- I said closing the door.

After the bath, I dried my hair and changed, I got out of the bathroom and everything was dead silent.
-Nanase?
-Here- he said from behind.
I turned around and saw him sitting in the floor with his head resting on the wall.
-Is that normal?
-What is?
-You waiting for me outside of the bathroom.
-Not really... Ready?
-Yeah.

He stood up and walked to the front door, took off the slippers and grabbed a bag. I did the same, but slower and not as gracefully as he did.

Nanase didn't talk much unless I asked something. He managed to always answer me in simple sentences. We got to the station, he showed me how to buy the metro tickets, explained me the huge map, and took me to not the nearest market but the biggest one. I had no idea of what to buy so he showed me what he usually buys with a beautiful poker face. Yes, I admit it, he's handsome in his own way.

-I'm a little bit hungry again, can we stop to eat something?- I asked.
-Are you allergic to anything?
-Not that I know of.
-Good, then come this way- he said walking through an alley with some of the bags from the grocery shopping, he walked rather fast until we got to a crowded street, I could see a lot of tourists walking around a food market. I filled my nostrils with all the weird smells and my stomach made a sound again.
-We can have some Dangos- he said stopping at one of the boots.
-What are those?
-Round dumplings made out of rice flour and water. They serve four on a skewer and seasoned them with sweet or savory sauces.
-Which one do you like the best?
-I like the one covered with soy sauce.
I asked for two skewers at the end, one with soy sauce and the other of something sweet. Nanase looked at me with wide eyes when I bought the two skewers and smiled a bit. Nanase just bought one, we went to sat on a bench nearby and saw all the people walking around with their families or friends.
-This is really good- I said biting again.
-It is.
-But not as good as mackerel.
-You're right- he said biting the dumpling in the cutest way possible.
How did I get so lucky with him as a roommate?

We were walking after getting out of the station with a lot of bags in our hands, the sun was about to set, and the colors were nothing I've seen before. It felt different than in Australia.
-Can I ask you something?
-Are you asking me if you can ask me something?- he said with a puzzled look on his face.
-It's dumb, isn't it? Whatever, my question is: why do you like to go to that market if there are a lot of others closer to the apartment?
-Mackerel.
-Don't other markets have them?
-They do, but the best one is in there.
-Oh, I see. Then good thing that you took me there, cause mackerel is my new favourite food- I said smiling.
-Really?
-Yes, definitely. I just have to learn how to cook it.
-It's easy.
-Would you show me sometime?
He nodded.

We got home and started placing the food in the fridge and the cupboard, the shelves on the top were for me, and the rest for him. When we were done, he asked me if I wanted to eat, it was time for dinner.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.
-Haru, it's me- said the person behind it.
Was that his name? I just knew his last name. Haru Nanase, it has a nice ring to it.
Nanase walked towards it, he opened it and I saw a tall man. They exchanged a few words, and I could tell that the other person was very talkative, also he had a nice voice.
-Hello- he said entering the kitchen with a huge smile.
-Hi- I returned the smile.
-I'm Tachibana Makoto, you must be White... Sorry I just know your last name.
-I'm White Noah- I said bowing slightly.
He did the same.
-Nice to meet you- he said with the nicest smile ever. The happiness of meeting someone got to his green eyes. It was a beautiful sight.
-So I came here to invite you guys to have dinner at my place. I know is a little bit late, but Haru didn't pick up his phone.
-We went to the market- he said with no hint of apology.
-Haru?- I said playing dumb.
-Yeah, him- he said pointing at Nanase.
-Your first name is Haru. I see.
-You didn't know his first name? How were you calling each other then?- he said genuinely confused.
-By last names- said Nanase.
-You're so mean sometimes, Haru.
-Whatever, I want her to have...
-The japanese experience?- I said smirking.
His cheeks tinted again.
-Well, you can call me Makoto, there's no need to be so formal. So, are you up for dinner?- He said excitedly.
-Of course- I said.
-What are we having?- asked Nanase.
-Pizza, courtesy of Nagisa and Rei.
He looked to the side.
-You can eat mackerel in the morning Haru, come on- Makoto said pushing him towards the hall.
I followed.
