Well, maybe not my worst idea... Actually, it wasn't that bad, at the end alcohol did help Haru...
When we ordered a third round, I noticed a pink haired guy passing by our table, I tried to focus my sight but I didn't have my glasses with me, so I let it go. A couple of minutes later, someone hugged from the side.
-Noah! You're back! Why didn't you tell me?- he whined.
Yes. It was the beautiful Kisumi.
-Kis you're crushing me.
-Sorry. Oh hey Haru, how's it going?
-Fine- said Haru sipping his drink.
-Typical Haru- he said chuckling.
-What are you doing here Kis?- I asked.
-I came here with Asahi, we were about to leave actually- he said with a light blush.
-Nice- I smirked.
He got flustered and hugged me again while hiding his red face behind my shoulder.
-Why don't you stay a bit?- said Haru.
What.
-Really?!- Kis yelled.
- I'm not gonna ask again.
-Yeah, ok. Let me get Asahi- he said walking away quickly.
-So you're okay with more people?- I asked Haru with a deep frown. He wasn't like this.
He nodded.
-They are good people.
-So you know Asahi?- I asked.
-We were teammates back in junior high.
Right, Kisumi said that once.
-Small world.
-It sure is.
Suddenly the waitress brought our drinks and two more chairs, which were occupied by the cutest couple ever: Asakisu.Asahi was just like Kisumi described him months ago, cheerful, eccentric and loud. And I could tell he was head over heels for him and vice versa. Kisumi ordered shots and I was just hoping I wouldn't pass out. We had a lot of rounds, courtesy of the couple, and we were talking in both Japanese and English. I don't know how did I understand so much of that, but I did.
I felt myself getting drunker as time passed by, but the feeling was energizing and I just kept on chatting and laughing. Haru on the other side was becoming calmer, if that's even possible. Suddenly, I touched his hand in slow motion and I saw tears in his eyes when he looked at me.
-I don't wanna lose him Noah- he whispered.
-You won't.
-But I'm an idiot.
-He loves you anyways.
-No, he doesn't anymore.
-What makes you say that?- I asked while whipping away some of his tears.
-I've been ignoring him the past days, and I said really hurtful things... Well, I don't remember if I said them or I just thought about them...
-Haru...
-Help me, please.
By that moment the couple were focused on him as well, so they asked Haru to tell everything from the beginning. He nodded slightly and avoided making eye contact with us. His version wasn't very different from Mako's, but he knew it was his own fault to be in that situation.
-You have to tell him how you feel Haru- said Kisumi.
-But he already knows it, he knows me too well.
-Of course he knows it, that's why he's been looking for you. But you have to tell him yourself. Be brave.
-But...
-Haru, don't be afraid or you'll lose him for sure.
Haru sighed.
-You know, ever since junior high I've noticed something, your relationship with Mako have always amazed me. You understand each other on a much deeper level, or rather is like your hearts are connected. And now, now I understand exactly why. You're meant to be- Kisumi said touching Haru's shoulder slightly.
-Don't be stupid, man. Besides, you can ask him to go on that trip- said Asahi.
-But it's a family trip.
-You already are family. Not just for Makoto, but for the Tachibanas too. I don't think, it will be a problem. But you have to ask, take the initiative for once.
Haru seemed to relax and kept on drinking what was left on his glass. Thank God they were here, cause I was so bad at giving advice, more in this state. I felt my limbs going numb, more and more every minute, but it felt weirdly pleasant. Yes, that's alcohol. After that, Kisumi didn't hesitate in lighten the mood with one of his random comments, we kept on drinking and laughing about anything. Haru seemed to be more at ease after Asakisu's advice, so he started drinking his ass off, when I noticed that I stopped. One of us had to lead the way home.
You would think that Haru was a passive drunk, but when he stood up from the table nearly knocking the glasses down and pulled Asahi with him to the dance floor. Kisumi and I stared at each other with surprise and concern, and went quickly to get the boys before they do something stupid. But of course, they refuse to go back to the table and started dancing to the rhythm of the music. Kis and I didn't have a choice so we stayed by their side while feeling the music blasting from the speakers.
