Days passed, exams came and I was almost biting my nails cause of the anxiety. I needed to pass and I was going to. I'd go with Kisumi some days when he or me needed help with a course, Rin didn't say anything whenever I left them after practice, but he didn't stop talking to me like last time. The international students weren't that worried about failing because their universities were more relaxed than mine. But that wasn't an option for me, I wanted to stay in Japan.
The anxiety was killing me. I knew that I answered everything the best I could, but I needed to see the grades. I was optimistic, but everything could happen. On a Friday at 11:58am, Kisumi and me were in my kitchen in front of our laptops screens just counting the seconds until the clock reach the 12. Our grades would show then. Haru was with Makoto and probably with the others. The clock changed to 12:00 and we refreshed the page, our eyes glued to the screen searching for our last names, I jumped to the bottom of the page. Normally, I was the last one. White... White... White... I saw the grades and changed them to the Australian system.
I passed.
I was free again.
-Kisumi we gotta throw a party. We must throw a party- I said after hugging him.
-I'm on it- he said calling the Dutch guy who was the mastermind behind every massive international party.
I called everyone, and they had news as good as mine about their grades. That was more reason to celebrate. The Dutch guy was already planning an end of term-party in his huge dorm, so we helped inviting people and buying alcohol. I invited the guys and Sousuke was the first one to say yes, he even came to help me and Kisumi hours later with the shopping. We took everything to the dorm, and then came back to our apartments to get ready for the party which was late at night.
Everyone arrived early and got tequila shots at the entrance of the dorm. The music sounded loud in the whole building and I was about to lose my mind, I needed to dance, I needed to drink, I needed to kiss someone. Yeah, I'd kiss someone, I'd kiss Rin. With alcohol in your veins, pretty much everything is possible. The guys entered at the same time, and they seemed so out of place, they were so innocent or at least that's what they seemed to be. Except for Sou, he was in the party since the very beginning with me and he was already dancing with some blonde chicks.
After a few shots, I tried to calm my drinking, otherwise I wouldn't remember a thing and probably would make some bad decisions. I saw Kisumi dancing with a redhead, he was definitely Asahi, I'd go there to meet him but I'd wait until Kisu introduce me to him. I went to the other side of the room and saw Rin talking to Sou for a bit, until a blonde tall girl took Sou's hand and walked away with him.
Rin seemed a little bored, he glanced at his watch while sipping a can of beer. He looked at the people around him, he didn't fit in. He had taken off his jacket and showed off his biceps through a blue v-neck t-shirt, his beanie still adorning his head and his right hand toying with his necklace. He was looking good, but how will I call his attention? We were just friends and by the looks of it, it wouldn't be anything else. Well he did say something about confessing the other day, but it was probably one of his jokes, he liked to tease a lot. The Dutch guy came by my side with a plate of shots and I took one and swallowed it, when I looked where Rin was standing again, he was making his way towards me.
-Drunk yet?- he asked me showing off his shark like teeth.
-Maybe- I said smiling a bit.
-Don't drink that much- he pleaded.
-I need to let go a lot of frustrations and stress. Swimming is a good way, but I need another option.
-Some say that sex is better for that.
