-Jolene-

I got up, did my morning routine and walked out the door immediately dreading the day. I texted Luke to meet me at the Starbucks down the street and he responded saying he'd be there in 10 minutes. Not texting him back, I reached into my bag to get headphones only to find I hadn't gotten them. I groaned loudly, causing a few people on the street to give me rude looks. After giving them looks back, I sighed and continued walking listening to the loudness of people talking, kids screaming, and cars driving by. I walked in quickly, wanting to be met by the smell of coffee, and to find a quieter place to help drown out the headache I currently have.

"Hi, what can I get you?" a boy behind the counter asked.

"Green tea frap please?" I asked and he nodded his head smiling at me. I heard the bell chime, and Luke walked in behind me, dressed in a Sleeping with Sirens shirt, a blue and grey flannel, black skinnies, and his signature black vans. "Hi." I smiled at him.

"Hey there Jo." he said smiling back at me. "Can I get a plain black coffee?" he asked. The worker just mumbled a sure before walking to the back. He came back soon after that, not holding our drinks.

"Someone else is making them." he told me. "So what's your name?" he smiled.

"Jolene," I gave a slight smile, not really wanting to talk.

"That's a pretty name." he leaned down to the counter, placing his elbows on it and folding his hands together. "Thank you." I said back.

"How long's it gonna take to get our drinks?" Luke asked, his voice firm. He only shrugged as an answer before turning back to me, and I heard Luke snort.

"Well I'm Will." he said holding his hand out. He had blue eyes and light brown hair, and was attractive, yes. But nothing worth interest. I shook his hand, and someone called out our orders. He walked back, got them, and handed them to us. "Here ya go." he smiled from ear to ear, his hand brushing mine as I grabbed it.

"Thank you, Will." I smiled. Luke grabbed my hand, saying thank you only loud enough where I could hear it, and pulled me out of the store. "Well someone woke up grumpy this morning." I poked his shoulder, taking a sip of my drink.

"Did you really not notice?" he asked. "Jo, he was basically drowning his eyes in your v-neck." he turned to me. "It pissed me off, yeah."

"Well. no I didn't notice. Sorry if it really makes you that mad." I say. "Why are you this pissed anyways?"

"Because I care, and I don't want you to date another asshole like Tommy." he said.

"Well first, Tommy isn't the first boyfriend I've had who cheated. Second, thank you so much Lucas for bringing that up again. Third, who said anything about dating? I barely even wanted to talk. I have a massive headache and feel sick." I said, and he just sighed. He messed with the beanie on his head, trying to fix it for the rest of the walk.

We got to the school ten minutes later, and got our things, going to first period. The day went by quickly, and soon enough, I was in A.P History. I'd ended up moving seats, sitting where I do in a lot of my classes; up by the door in the corner on the left. I don't know what I liked about sitting in that spot, I just did. I could see Carly and Tommy out by the lockers, and the sight was revolting. He was moving his hand up her skirt, her running her hand down his torso. The bell rang and they walked in.

"Alright class! I'll be assigning partners at random today, so don't try to buddy up with anyone. I'll be pairing people up with others who I think will work well together and have the same creative style, make things easier for you guys." she said. "Alright, Jones and Smith. Holmes and Gray. Ross and Lancaster." she said before continuing. "Hampton and Hemmings." Great. "Holland and Adams." she says and I froze.
