"Sorry about yelling at you this morning. I had a hard time at home this morning."
I passed the note over to Felix.
He read the note and a small smile grew on his face as he wrote back
"It's okay. Sorry I spilt on you. I had a rough morning as well and keep messing a lot of stuff up :)."
Perfect. He seems to be quick to forgive and trust. What a perfect victim. Nice job Owen!
"So why did your family decide to move to a small town like Zunderville?"
"My mom used to have family here and she lost her job in Denver so we moved into a home that was given to us for free here since my grandparents already paid it off."
"So you're a city boy?"
"You could say that ;)."
What the heck? Who winks about something stupid like that? Freaky.
"Sucks you have to move to a town with a bunch of white kids who don't even know darker skin tones exist."
"Yeah...that girl was super weird for thinking I was from Africa."
"Everyone in this town will think that. They're shallow minded."
"Well at least you don't think that right."
"No. I just moved here two years ago and used to live in a bigger town too so I'm well aware there's all sorts of people out there."
"Where did you live?"
"Washington D.C. My dad was a congressman."
"Oh that's cool! I've always wanted to go there!"
"Eh, it's not all you think it is."
"Better than Denver at least."
"It's all opinion."
"Sorry to ask but maybe we could hang out at lunch?"
"Yeah."
"Awesome! Guess I'll pay attention to the lesson now. We'll talk more at lunch!"
He handed me the last note and right after I read it, I stuffed it into my notebook and looked up at the whiteboard.
Perfect. He actually wants to hang out with me. This is going to be way easy. I can't wait!

"Do you like sports at all?" Felix asked me as we swung on the swings.
"Not really. I guess basketball is okay..."
"Really?! I love basketball! You should come over to my house sometime and we can play! I have a court!"
"Sounds cool. I'll ask my mom when I can come over!" I faked an enthusiastic cheer.
