"You're number 337," a man handed me a sticker with a number on it."I was told I'm the first audition of the day though."
"It is. 337 people auditioned yesterday. Count yourself lucky. The judges get bored after the first 10 but hey they won't be bored of you."
"Uh, okay." I said.
I felt my body starting to shake a little. The hand holding my guitar began sweating and made my grip not as firm.
PLEASE let Felix be in there.
But wait...what if this is a stupid song to sing? It's from a cartoon movie and probably something little kids would sing! There was probably a better song to pick...damn it.
"Okay it's time kid," a man in a suit smiled at me and lead me to the stage.
That's when I felt my heart drop.
I'm gonna die.
I can't do this.
Oh fuck I quit.
"Next audition is Owen Rogers," the man announced.
"Go on stage whenever," he said to me.
I can do this.
Breathe.
Okay never mind I can't do this!
Someone kill me!
"Um, is he there?" One of the judges said over the microphone.
I slowly walked into sight, my legs shaking so much that anyone could tell.
"Hello Owen," a man I knew said. DUKE POPPLINS! MY IDOL! OH MY FUCKING GOD. "What will you be singing?"
I looked at the other judges faces to see if Felix was there.
Duke. Some blonde lady. Random bald guy...Felix! Well, at least the guy that looked like Felix. He was sitting right there.
And staring right at me.
Oh god.
I think it's really him.
Wait.
Does he even remember me?
Of course he does Owen, you tried to fucking kill him.
I made eye contact with him and he flashed me a smile.
"Oh uh, The Apology Song."
I sat on the stool and began to tune my guitar one last time.
I began the chords on the guitar slowly, and as soon as I heard the notes play, my nerves fades and I remembered why I truly came.
To say sorry. Even if he didn't accept it, as long as I tried to apologize.
"Torro, I am humbled, for tonight I understand. Your royal blood was never meant to decorate this sand..."
I continued to sing and the room was silent all except my song echoing through it.
"You've suffered great injustice, so have thousands before you..."
I looked over at Felix.
He wasn't smiling anymore, just staring at me. Almost emotionless. It brought back my nerves but I continued and tried to push through it.
"I offer an apology, one long over due..."
I'm gonna say his name. I'm going to direct this exactly at him. This is why I came.
