Hotch's Point of View

Driving to the plane, (Y/N) was looking at the files and I sighed, saying,

"I'm sorry." Looking up at me, she raised a brow and replied,

"For what?" I gave her a knowing look and she sighed, saying,

"It's not that big of a deal." Reaching across the middle console, I held her hand and said,

"If it's that big of a deal to you, it means that much to me too." Parking, I grabbed both of our go bags and walked next to (Y/N), as she said,

"Aaron-" She paused and stopped me, sighing,

"I do care for you. But I do not want to get my hopes up." I nodded and kissed her knuckles, saying,

"I understand." We walked onto the plane and sat next to each other, studying the case. I flipped through the victims charts and said,

"He doesn't has a type." (Y/N) hummed and nodded, saying,

"Yeah, we've got a brunette with brown eyes, a blonde with blue eyes, a ginger with green...They're not physically similar...I want to talk to the victim's families, see what kind of social life they had." I looked up at her and nodded, saying,

"I'll go with you." Morgan and Reid got on the plane and put their go bags away, sitting down.

"This guy is organized, Hotch." Morgan commented, looking at the crime scene photos and I nodded, saying,

"Yeah. We only see what he wants up to see." I heard Gideon say while getting on the plane. I looked over and he sat across from me, saying,

"The only way to catch this guy is to catch him in the act." The plane took off and we started to looked at the case. Looking at him, I asked,

"What makes you say that?" He looked at the crime scene photos and replied,

"He doesn't take trophies, he won't confess, he's aware of interrogation tactics, he's being arrested before. I think we should send someone in." He looked at (Y/N) and I shook my head, saying,

"No way in hell. We shouldn't jump the gun on this Gideon, we might be able to catch him with our profile." (Y/N) looked at me and protested,

"I wanna do it. I wanna do anything to catch this guy." I threw my folder on the table and said,

"He's kidnapping and keeping these victims for two weeks. In that time, he tortures his victims and at the end of two weeks, he kills his victims. He strangles them, he feels the life leave their body." I glared at her and she glared back at me, saying,

"If it'll stop him from killing again, I'm not worried about the risk." I huffed and shook my head, replying,

"This is out of the question." Sighing, she stood up and walked across the plane, not saying anything.

Time Skip to an Hour Later

I was staring at the board in the conference room, there was another victim, and we were not even close to figuring out a profile for this man. (Y/N) was across the room and she approached me, saying softly,

"We have to." I glanced back at her and ran a hand through my hair, saying,

"I can't." She placed a hand on my arm and countered,

"We only have a few hours until he goes hunting, again. We have to." My breathing rate increased and I punched the table, saying,

"Damn it!"

"Aaron-" She started, but I cut her off,

"Do it." She kissed my cheek and walked off to get her cover, leaving me to my thoughts. Gideon walked into the conference room and asked,

"You're letting her do it?" I sat down and shook my head, asking,

"What choice do I have?" I paused and put my head in my hands, continuing,

"This is the only way we can nail this guy."

"She'll be okay, Hotch." Gideon said, looking at the board and sitting next to me. Morgan walked in with Reid and he sat down, asking,

"Where's (L/N)?" I looked at him and replied,

"Getting her cover." He looked at me and asked,

"You're letting her go under?"

"Hesitantly." (Y/N) said, catching my attention and making me stand. She had papers in her hands and her firearms weren't on her. I walked up to her and fell to my knees, tears escaping my eyes. I wrapped my arms around her waist and buried my face into her body, saying,

"(Y/N)..." She rested her hands on my shoulders and said,

"Aaron, I'll be fine." She tugged at my coat jacket and I stood up, looking down at her. Wiping away my tears, she caressed my cheeks and said, softly,

"I'll be fine." I looked down at her and asked,

"How could you possibly know that?" Shaking her head, she wrapped her arms around my torso and whispered,

"You gotta trust me." I nodded and hugged her back, not wanting to let go. A local agent came in and asked,

"You ready, Agent (L/N)?" She pulled away from me and looked at him, nodding. I grabbed her wrist and kissed her, not caring who saw. When I pulled away, I rested my forehead against her own and whispered,

"Be safe." She nodded and walked out with the agent. Turning back towards my team, they were all smirking and Gideon patted my shoulder, saying,

"She'll be fine, Hotch. She's a well seasoned agent."

Time Skip to the Next Day

"What do you mean she's gone?!?" I questioned, my emotions all mixing. Morgan was watching her all night and he told me that nothing triggered the alarm. She didn't give him the signal and when he went check on her, both of her firearms were there and so was her wire.

"Hotch, calm down. She'll be fine. We'll find her." Reid said, trying to calm me down. I sat down and sighed, saying,

"And if we can't?"

"We will." Gideon countered, pacing the room and trying to keep a straight face. I looked away from him and replied, softly,

"Just...find her...Please."
